28 days were up for HSBC today through the Moneyclaim online site, and the !!!!!!s are defending!
Does this mean I have lost?0 -
Hi all,
Well to date I have written 2 letters with no replies and my 3rd letter was posted today giving 7 days to reply of court action.
Anyone else had similar situation with Lloyds TSB where they ignore letters even if they are signing for them.
Best of luck all.0 -

Just written the acknowledgement letter for the £333.10 that the Alliance & Leicester have finally given back to my wife. :-)
seems they're going to be in touch to "discuss the future operation" of her account - which should be a fun call as the account has been closed since last summer.0 -

I've seen this question quite a few times in various threads, but no answers.
Is it safe to claim returned DD charges that have been added on to my mortgage (i.e. a failed mortgage payment)?
I have seen posts saying it's safe to make claims on a bank account with the same provider as a mortgage, but they also say that it's safe because it's a different contract.
My mortgage is with Alliance & Leicester, if that makes a difference.
It's only a single unpaid DD, so without confirmation that it's safe, I will just let them get away with it.0 -
so sorry, this has probably been asked 1million times before, but i dont fancy reading 151 pages on this thread
1. if the account to be claimed against is a joint account, would one simply change the "I's" to "we's" in the template and both sign it? (1st letter)
2. is there a list/thread anywhere that says which banks are easier/tougher to deal with? my main targets in order will be Abbey(%$$&$* $% £^^££), Barclays, Halifax.
thanks so much.

Hi everybody. I wonder if anybody could help me out please.
I have 2 Halifax current accounts of which both have been charged excessive amounts for bieng overdrawn etc. I have recieved statements from both and sent out the standard letter asking for the charges to be refunded.
Ac No 1 - £566 (Without interest)
Ac No 2 - £1617 (Without interest)
With Ac No1 - I recieved a letter offering £357 of which I turned down, and told them I wanted the full amount and that they had 7 days or I was going to proceed with court action. The 7 days has now passed and no reply from Halifax - Question ? - Do I now go straight into the online claim website and start the ball rolling or wait a while longer?
With Ac No2 - I recieved a letter from them saying that they are sorry Blah! Blah! Blah! and that the complaint handling rules set buy the Financial Services Authority gives them 8 Weeks to investigate and respond to complaints.
The question is do I go straight for Court action or wait for them to reply. It sounds like they are just buying a bit of time before they make a disision.
Does anybody have any thoughts on the way ahead to get the money back in my account?
Many thanks

aslong as you've given them warnings about going to court then file the moneyclaim - they should back down then - halifax did for me this week (£4317 & £680) + you'll get your moneyclaim costs back too0 -
