Royal Bank of Scotland
Claimed: £1424
Received £1424
Just wanted to say thanks very much for all your advice and useful information on the website.
RBs caved pretty easily with my case, I simply sent the first letter asking for the money back and they sent me the usual "offer of goodwill" for the full amount, I didn't think it would be so easy but VERY pleased I did it!0 -
rupertrabbit wrote:Hello everyone, i have been reading the info about claiming bank charges but have not seen any details about whether late payment fees can be claimed for. Credit card companies charge the same level of penalty for paying a couple of days late as the banks for overdrawing etc but are these also unlawful if i haven't paid on time? They are still unreasonably extortionate so i'd love to get my money back if poss. but don't want to send cheques for £10to each of them if it's not a valid claim. thanks in anticipation of a favourable response. T
Yes, late payment fees and over limit fees can be reclaimed.0 -

I had run myself in to the ground trying to clear my debt with Natwest i had ended up being £700 overdrawn and paying back £80 a month. After seeing the BBC xray program i enquired about getting my charges back when i did this the bank turned nasty a said that unless i paid £328 by the end of Feb 07 then they would take further action so as i was recording the call i told them to take further action as i couldn't afford that. The same day i recieved my statment from the bank and supprisingly they had charged me £2000 over the last 6 years, so i wrote to them claiming this money back and giving them 14 days to reply, on the 15 day i had a reply saying that they would pay me £1849 back.0

does anyone know if you can reclaim charges on car finance agrements and does it matter if it is over £25,000 borrowed as they say this is an unregulated agreement, and can you claim late payment fees on mortgage accounts. and also can you reclaim late payments on finance agreements as they told me i cant as they are different type of agreements.0

Hi,
Does anyone have a fax number or email address for Barclaycard please?0 -
Bank: First Direct
Amount Reclaimed: £2913.00
Amount they paid: £2513.00
The story: I put my claim in 3 weeks ago, and got to the stage where I threatened Court Action. I received a letter last week with an offer which I have accepted, with much delight!!! :j I would recommend that everybody reclaim their unfair charges. This website is the BEST it gives you everything you need to claim back your money.0 -

Thats exactly how i feel about it £1800 is good but £600 more will be a lot better. I think most people who are in the position of having bank charges are the people who can least afford to be charged them and that we should take them for as much as we can!!!
Have you only had the one offer? Please let me know how you get on, Natwest have until a week on Monday to enter a defence as the have aknowledged the claim.
Thanks for your advice steve

Hi Karen
I had an offer of £550 one week before starting the court process. They submitted a defence on the last day! gutted! But it doesn't change anything in the end.
As it stands, cobbetts sent a request for further info, then when I didn't reply they put in the further info of the AQ that they may apply to strike out my claim.
No worries though as apparently the request is not valid in the small claims court. Also was given a letter by a really helpful person on this forum to send to the court stating as much
The stage I am at now is that I am awaiting a court date which will hopefully bring me out onto the final straight.
Good luck, let me know how it goes.
