They are allowed to request information to prove the request is from an authorised party. What information did you originally provide?0 -
13 days now since I sent off my letter detailing charges (sent registered post which arrived on the 8th Feb) and still not even any acknowledgement from them! roll on Friday and my LBA gets sent, then only 1 more week until I can start with the court proceedings! them being so lame has just added to my determination to get the money back. I would be quite pleased if it got to the stage where I had to get the bailiffs on them!0

I'm a little confused as to what I am entitled to claim in the way of charges from my bank. I have trawled through the statements for the last few years and the charges that have been applied are a Monthly fixed service charge that was initially £5 p/mnth which increased to £7 p/mnth, (which I believe is for having an overdraft arrangement) overdraft interest, and charges for the odd unpaid standing order. Can anyone enlighten me please as to what it is I am entitled to claim back? I would be most grateful to you for your help....Thank You.MSE_Jenny wrote:

my brother in law satrted his claim back about six months ago and got to the stage of refusing and offer of a third of the amount and told them he was taking it to court if they did not pay in full whicjh there reply was basically "take us to court"
Anyway for 1 reason and another he never got to the court stage.
He was round this morning asking if he could still take it to court or would he need to start it all over again.
Any advise would be gratefully appreciated.0 -

Can anyone help? I would like to claim back around £1600 of unfair charges from HSBC. I no longer have my current account with them but do have a managed loan of around £15,000. Will they try to claim this money back from me if I proceed?0
