  • Barclays - business Account: £700.00
    Barclays - personal Account: £200.00
Bank of Ireland - personal Account: £1,600.00

Instead of sending off the first letter to barclays, as I had spent ages chatting with my bank manager and their customer services - I went straight onto letter no 2 from CAG - I hope it's ok doing that?

As well as adding interest, I am applying a fee per correspondance and my day rate for attending court (as one of the accounts is a business account), of which I will invoice the bank - has anyone done this before?

The Bank of Ireland one is a weird one too, as my account is held in dublin - does anyone know if the laws are the same in Eire?

    Thanks in advance

    Dani

Moneyclaim is the website to post civil claims on, rather than go to court and fill in the paperwork - the url is https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

    Hope that helps

  • Bank: Halifax
    Amount claimed: £4,000
    Amount received: £4,000

It took about 6 weeks to get our money back. We went to court and £4,000 was in our account within 3 days. I could not believe my eyes. I had worried that it wouldn't happen for us. We are so grateful to the wonderful people who showed us the way and Martin for his site!
Now we are having a new bathroom. HA HA :rotfl::
  • After listening to Martin on Jeremy Vine (Radio 2) Fri 6th Oct and hearing of this revelation, me and my partner have to day compiled our letters to FD asking for our complete history on charges etc.

I personally could be in for quite a nice payback as i have incurred horrendous charges for nearly three years. Reading all these success stories is very encouraging.

Good to hear Jo-to-let-you-know, its always busy on MSE after Martin has been on Jeremy Vine and its even better to hear when someone has acted on his advice :)

If you haven't already read it you'll find Martin's article here..

  • Hi Edinburghlass - yes i spent about 3 hours reading the info on this website lastnight - as Martin advised, i didnt want to just jump in without getting some background info. I have been scanning 2 years of statements and so far i am up £1500.00, one charge for going overdrawn by £36.00 = £150.00!!! i am now waiting for remaining statements to get my true IOU cost ;o).

Thanks for your advice though!!
