It is horrendous for everyone - I eventually got my first cheque but its taken 2 months, 5 recorded delivery claims, 1 special delivery claim and 7 nasty emails....roll on march when we go through the whole thing yet again!
  • WHY???? If YOU sent it correctly, THEY received it AND can prove it DON'T let them mess you around! LBA, sue for the WHOLE lot with costs and interest! Why do people create problems for themselves, jumping through hoops because of the whims and ploys of a company which isn't honouring it's own t&c?? Back to the basics as ever:-

Hi. I sent in my paperwork last month and have received a letter back saying that I have sent it in a month too early. I now (according to what they have said in the letter) have the correct paperwork to send in. Can anyone tell me what I need to to write under 'Transaction Number' on the claim form. On the previous one I sent in I put the order number here - is this correct?
    Thanks for any advice.

No, you need to include your "Transaction No.", it will be on your invoice in the top right-hand corner.

I've got a similar problem. I sent my 4th bill in December as required within 30 days but I sent it to the Dunstable address provided in my original order confirmation email which says to follow this link for cashback instructions:

    http://www.e2save.com/popups/Chequebackform.pdf

I emailed them last week enquiring the status of my cashback to be told:

"Your claim was sent to the Dunstable address not the Crewe address as stated in our terms and conditions and the email which was sent to you when you ordered the phone. All price match claims have to be sent to the Crewe address. Because of this your claim has been rejected.

Regretably the terms of the Price Match claim system has not been followed and as stated in the terms and conditions it means that all future claims are forfeit."

The printed terms and conditions that came with the phone and an email they sent 1 hour after the order confirmation email both state the Crewe address so I admit they did provide me with the information, but did not warn me to ignore the instructions in the order confirmation email. Also, their printed terms state:

"All claim information is supplied to you at the point of purchase".

Even though I followed the instructions in good faith on the original order confirmation email (which I printed out and filed at the time) they are now rejecting this and all future claims. At best I think this is incompetence on their part by providing inconsistent instructions and at worst it could be interpreted as intentionally misleading.

I am upset as I sent the correct bill within the required timeframe, they confirmed they received the claim but due to using the "wrong" address my claim was rejected. I phoned them and a girl said the decision is final and the only thing I can do is write a complaint letter. I am considering doing that and potentially filing a money claim online for costs of £420, the total of this and all future cashbacks.

After reviewing the details of my case, I have decided not to pursue the matter. Although not very pleased that E2save sent me incorrect info/vouchers in the order confirmation email, I will take the responsibilty for not following the T&C's in the contract. It turns out I not only sent it to the "wrong" address, I also did not send the original bill, I sent a photocopy, which although is fine according to the vouchers in the email, the T&Cs in the contract explicitly state to send the original bill.

So, sometimes when you play with fire you will get burnt, live and learn. Having taken advantage of 12-month free deals with CPW, mobileshop and coolnewmobiles (all successfully) in the past, I cannot really complain too much about this (expensive) mistake. Looking forward to my next 12-month free deal having learnt a good lesson.

PS If I felt that I had been really messed about I would not hesitate to pursue this in the courts and I would encourage others to do so as well, you cannot let this companies scam you out of your money if you have complied to the terms.

Does anyone know what the score is with this situation:

I sent my claim by special delivery as normal to Crewe. Royal mail have posted this message on the royalmail.com tracking system:

"Your item with reference ********** was delivered before 12:31 on 13/02/08.
As the item was redirected, it will have taken longer than usual. Please ensure the correct address is used for future mailings. "

Have e2save changed address?? Where has my letter been redirected? Does this mean they have received it?

I am very confused by that message, as i havent had any email telling me to change where to post my claims. Should i still be using the Crewe address?

Unless they write to you with different instructions you should keep sending your claims to the address given in your cashback contract terms and conditions.

Sending them in to any other of their addresses is a breach of the contract and allows them to not pay you.

See post #979 where a member has lost £420 through sending the claim to a different address from the Crewe one.

Cheque received within 10 days of submitting my claim. I am surprised.
  • Isn't that unusual - provided you DO get things right! They now look to mislead and find (usually) unjustified reasons for not apying up nowadays.
