  • How long are taking to sort out claims these days.

I sent in my last (5th) claim on the 21st Aug to Crewe as I did the previous 4 claims, all were paid within a couple of weeks.

This one however was redirected to Hedge End, Southampton.

Maybe I was lucky with the first 4 but as this is the last one I'm getting concerned, not only for the £84 cheque but the fact that I let the (£35)contract run into month 14 to be sure of getting the last bill.

CPW or OSPS to be correct stitched me up on my last cash-back contract by not sending out my last bill.
  • I never let my contracts over-run and it's never caused a problem. Sounds like they will say your claim is lost. Normally takes 2-3 weeks to get a cheque and had a similar problem with someone else's in August. Suggest you send an email straight away; presuming they reply they will insist you give RD number and send a copy. Don't mess around for too long though - if they don't cough up pronto take the usual route (LBA then sue, though doubt the latter will be necessary).
  • OK, hope someone can help.

I have read a lot in here about following the T&Cs for the cashback claim (I purchased through OSPS on 27 March this year, and it was not a price-match offer). Where do I find these?

The T&Cs on the back of the Sales Invoice go from:

    1. ORDERS AND SPECIFICATIONS to
    11. GENERAL

Nowhere in there does it mention cashback. Interestingly, these are not the same T&Cs which were linked to during the sales process, I have printouts of all the screens I went through (no major differences, though, and still nothing about cashback).

The "order confirmation", the final screen when ordering online, has some information about the offer, but is this binding?

The "Your Offer Explained" document, which arrived with the Sales Invoice, "Welcome" pack and claim vouchers, says I must use the claim vouchers in the Cashback Claim Form leaflet. The leaflet mentioned then directs me to mycashbackclaim.co.uk which sets out more (different) details for my claim.

Finally, the "Welcome" booklet gives a 3rd version, slightly different again.

So what I want to find out really is:
    * Where would I find the cashback T&Cs (as these do not appear to be in the T&Cs of sale, unless I missed something)?
    * Should I send the original of the bill, or a copy - I suppose this depends on the information in the T&Cs!

I hope someone doesn't mind pointing me in the right direction.

  • You've not followed the groundrules. You won't find the t&c you actually signed up to now unless amongst your original printouts you have them and know they are the ones. As for the rest - all the common and normal misinformation is repeated many times on this and similar threads.
  • On the 19/10/08 my contract with O2 comes to an end. When would I get the PAC code from O2, so I don't invalidate my e2save claim? Do O2 give PAC code over the telephone?

    Thank you

Interesting as, as far as I could tell, I went through every link offered while ordering and printed all the pages off - some 54 pages of them!
I'll just have to suck it and see, then.

  • No ideaq where you get 54 pages from; the t&c at the point of sale are easily found - shouldn't need more than 5-6 pages including the offer and t&c. Between March and April there were two main sets of t&c. Thea early March ones differed significantly from the mid April ones. It depends what you signed up to on 27th March and you should know that. If it wasn't perfectly clear at the time (and if you can't figure out the real t&c six months later) you really shouldn't have proceded, I would add that the mid April t&c are extremely ambiguous whereas the early March ones are straightforward!

    Thank you

Yes, O2 will give you a PAC code over the phone anytime from the start of your 11th month.

The PAC code is valid for 30 days. When you give it to your new network, they will give you a port date 2 days after the time you give it to them.

IF your port date is BEFORE the end of your 12 months contract, you will invalidate your claim. (As a technical note - yes, you can port before the end of the 12 month period, because you have already paid the line rental to the end of your contract period).

BUT BEWARE - the problem arises here. If you port as soon as your 12 months ends, you will not get your normal bill on the 19th Oct (or 20 or 21, or whenever it is). Instead, O2 will issue a 'final bill' dated around 2 November. THAT will invalidate your claim.

The only safe way to play this game is to wait until you have your 19th Oct bill in hand (that should arrive at your house around 24 Oct) - and ONLY THEN tell your new network that you want to port.

It will, however, mean you end up paying an extra week's line rental to O2 - which could cost around £11 if you are on the £45 tariff.

    Thank you for your advice

Were you in this situation before?

I was thinking of staying with O2 but on pay as you go, can't believe that I can not keep the same sim card with O2. I have been advise to port my no. to the O2 pay as you go sim, how odd.

urban469, If I get the PAC code on 13th Oct, so when I receive my bill for the 19Oct, its ready for porting, any problem with that?

My main concern is that wouldn't O2 tie me into another 12months contract, if i don't notify them before the 19Oct?

    Thank you

Your contract is subject to a minimum period of just 12 months. If you let it run past 12 months, then you are out of the minimum period, and remain so.

You will only be tied to another contract if you agree to one in return for a deal they might suggest to get you to withdraw your notice.
