I had an idea, he can enter all the competitions on GMTV, This Morning and Loose Women!! Plus, if you stock up on cross word mags etc they often have comps in there, who knows you might end up thousands of pounds better off and going on a luxury cruise!!!
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
Foot problems run in my family and the ops hinted at are not major surgery (I would know more if the OP had answered my question but shes here for a fight and not advice) nor result in long term sick leave for most people, even my cousin whos a machanic and worked all but a few days post op!
Foot surgery today for arch problems ect are routine and breaking all toes is also a regular thing and not life or death but it will cause financial hardship for a few months if you havnt been sensible, it isnt a result of an accident or urgent and it should have been planned for (read the full posts of the OP before attacking me please)0 -
I understand, but however they are strapped, they have to be satisfied that the patient receives the care he or she needs before they can discharge.
Definitely.
My daughter had major surgery on her foot and leg back on November.
I had to have OT visit the home before she was allowed home to ensure the bed was the right height and we had all the correct equipment at home before she was 'released'
As a side note, I'm a single parent who works 30hrs a week.
My daughter needed full time care for a long time - she was unable to use crutches as she is disabled and does not have and strength or grip in one arm.
I had to take 11 weeks unpaid off work to care for her whilst she recovered from surgery.
I looked into getting help - I too had bills to pay.
There is nothing available to anyone in situations like this so I can understand some of the OP's frustration.
I am still trying to muddle my way through unpaid bills and am slowly attempting to get myself back on track
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

Your situation is totally diffrent then the OP, you are a parent to a disabled child who needs you to be there both pre- and post- op for an extended time and not a healthy male with a none urgent foot problem that can have selective surgery after planning it fianacialy.0 -

I know my situation was different.
Just pointing out that there is definitely no help available in a situation like this
