Yay Ames that's a brilliant thing.

ETA: I'll be heading to the library tomorrow....any recommendations. I really enjoy reading the historical story type books (have got The Lady Elizabeth and Innocent Traitor and they were brilliant) so anything in that vein would be liked....I'd love to get one of the Conn Aggulden books, I had one but I want the second! (Genghis Khan series)

Elfen Have you tried Philippa Gregory's Tudor ones? Bernard Cornwell's historical ones are good too.

Niccatw There are two versions of David Attenborough's Auto biog as it has recently been updated to take account of his recent series. Really easy read so far, chatty but interesting - lots of photos.

Elfen, I've got loads of Conn Iggulden ones, but none of them are a whole series, I've got one or two out of each one. I'm waiting till I've picked up a whole set cheaply to read it all in one go. Hopefully when car boot season gets in full swing I'll be able to manage it.

I loved Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantell, set in the time of Henry VIII. Or Sarah Dunant's Italian ones.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I like Sci Fi (although I prefer fantasy), the genre I can't get into is chick lit - it bores me to tears.

I think I tend to disregard both. They never even occurred to me as genres there... I do find it difficult to get into autobiographies though, however interested I am in the person I'm reading about!

Ames, tell me more about fantasy? I've read Isabel Allende's trilogy (Forest of the Pygmies, City of Beasts, Kingdom of the Golden Dragon). I'm assuming they might come under fantasy?

What would you recommend? Can't seem to get into any of the books I've picked up at the moment (nothing unusual, just means I need to put them down for a bit and pick them up again later).
