Does anyone else have a genre they just can't get into? I can happily read anything else.
Sci-fi. I have read the almost obligatory sci-fi books (Dune, Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, 2001: A Space Odyssey etc) but I have never really got into it. My ex used to read only sci-fi books and he had hundreds but I could never pick one up and read it.
Now, a nice gripping crime story and I'm in there!

I like Sci Fi (although I prefer fantasy), the genre I can't get into is chick lit - it bores me to tears.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Oh yes, not keen on it either - but I love Marian Keyes - she's the exception!

I agree with all the people who say that Oxfam is stupidly expensive: fair enought, it's for charity, but their prices aren't far off the RRP! Surely there must be some comprimise, and it's not just books that they price so expensively...ever seen one of their 'normal' charity shops?!
Our Oxfam shops charges 2/3rds of the RRP on the back of the book. However, this makes me always give my finished books to Oxfam as I know that they will raise lots of money for good causes.0 -
Finished Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol and loved it.
:T:T:T:T:T claps from me. If you love the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons you'll love this too....
.....however, now I want to go to Washington :rotfl:
Haven't decided what to read next...
Happy Reading0 -
I do that too, whenever I read a book I want to go where it's set! Or if there's lots of food in it I find myself eating similar things (fantasy always has a lot of bread and honey so that becomes my breakfast when I'm reading it!).
I've just spent a whole hour in Waterstones and didn't buy anything! Mainly cos I'd lost my purse so couldn't take it with me, but still. I didn't even add anything to my wish list! Mainly cos I was in the cafe waiting for someone who didn't turn up and so didn't look at any books...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
