Just finished The Maze Runner series by James Dashner - it was readable, enough action to keep you wondering what would happen next but I honestly wish I hadn't bothered - the writing throughout was poor and the ending of the main trilogy and the prologue story are both rubbish!0

My daughter loved it but that's the target group they were written for! Anything to keep kids readingDon't think I will bother with them myself, I was happy enough with the Hunger Games as that had a message...

I too have started Jo Nesbo but I'm currently reading The Bat. It's fantastic so far. Have you read it and will you be readings the books in order?
Stuart MacBrides new book out on Thursday can't wait to go pick it up

Hello!
Yes I've read The Bat (and very much enjoyed it) - in fact, I've read all of the Jo Nesbo books other than The Son (still in HB) and Police (which I also received for Christmas and will probably read next) - LOVE his books!
I read the books out of order as they weren't translated in order - The Bat was his first and only came out a year or so ago I think, and The Redbreast was another late one (despite being #3 in the series - Cockroaches is #2). The first I read was The Snowman as that was the first widely available one, and I've been hooked ever since!
I would, however, probably recommend reading them in order since you have the choice of doing so now - I think the context might help. Be warned though, some of the earlier ones (Redbreast esp) aren't quite so well written/gripping as the later ones - don't write him off on that basis!
Enjoy - rather jealous of you having the full series to look forward to
I've read about half of Cockroaches over the past few days, I'm constantly looking forward to my commute at the moment, and hoping for some quiet time this weekend to finish it!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
I nearly bought a book yesterday, i picked it up , flicked through it , walked around with it, then eventually put it back and walked out the shop to stop me going back for it.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

I finished Cockroaches yesterday - brilliant! - and started The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty - my first book by her and have read over half already so don't think it will be around for much longer. A very enjoyable light read.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

I've been waiting for this one on audio for 6 months from the library - the first copy was stolen, the second was badly damaged and now I'm again on the bottom of the waiting list
I'm now almost finished with the Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. It took me some time to get into the vibe of the book as I couldn't really relate to the main character but it turned out as a lovely story about friendship and mothers and daughters. It actually made me cry (which does not happen often!!) and it made me think a lot about my mum's childhood and if I could ever get her to remember things I could write down but she has quite total amnesia regarding her early years during the war....it must have been too traumatic to rememberFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Finished The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer this morning - very good read after starting it months ago and abandoning it, was shocked to find it so easy to get back into and sped through it! Also read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion - LOVED it! :grinheart Have had to buy the next book in the series against the rule of the thread
I'm speeding through my to read pile though so am not going to feel guilty about it!
