  • Hi everyone! The only book I got for Christmas was a cookery book so IN's to declare there. I did have to buy a book for book club because the library didn't have a copy but I am determined to get as many books as I can out of the library this year rather than buying them. My to be read pile is now down to less than 30 so I should get through those by the end of 2015!

  • Hello everyone,

I would love to join this challenge as I can't resist buying books (paperbacks or Kindle) but never seem to be able to read as much as I want! This year I'll set myself a Goodreads challgenge too and will aim to read 52 books in 2015!

Good morning, dear MSE readers :)

I will update my Goodreads list today. I'll start with a pile (rather than shelf, lol) for 2015. They are so unsightly and gathering dust stacked in front of a shelf ;).

I'm already half -way with Eddie Izzard's, it is quite entertaining although from 1998, lol.

  • Morning,

Gem-Gem, I can second bubblesmum on going to see the curious incident of the dog in the night time- amazing production, really clever! Hope you enjoy the book.

Well i'm not totally sure how many books i've read in 2014, but its not enough though- my to-read pile has not decreased at all, in fact it's looking decidedly bigger, dispite not receiving any books for christmas! A couple of things have added to this- mainly being very unwell and not able to read (torture!) for a number of months and that I seem to collect books wherever I go....not sure how it happens!

Currently i'm staying with my parents, I had packed 3 of my own to-read books and have also been donated a further 3 by them!

    Here's to a well read 2015!

  • Hi everyone,
I'd love to join this as I love reading but seriously have too many unread books and e-books to count. I received several book sets for Christmas and bought some from The Book People in the summer that I'm yet to dent. I'm also a sucker for 'helping' charity shops by buying books from them! :rotfl:

I don't have nearly as much time to read as I'd like, but I'd like to set myself the target of reading 20 books please, which in itself is probably going to be difficult.

I have just finished reading 4 Barbara Pymm books. The most recent being 'Jane and Prudence'. Great reads and brilliant humour.

I have that book in my list for 2015. I have recently moved to the town of her birth and had not heard of her before then:eek:

Just finished listening to The Warden by Anthony Trollope, I have read it before but wanted to listen to Timothy West's naration as I have a few more Barchester novels in my Audible library.

FrugalinS, I'm glad to have found another listener! I don't list my Audios here usually as they are all from the library but I wondered if you know anywhere we can rate readers? Some are absolutely brilliant (Sean Barrat is my favourite) and other actors I might have liked from the screen just put me to sleep when they are reading a book, lol. Will check out Timothy West/Trollope now. ;)

  • Hello, could I join for 2015 please? I've lots of books and ebooks to get through and this is after recently donating a load to charity shops. I'm terrible for having lots of books on the go at the same time and never getting around to finishing them all.

I will aim to complete 15 in 2015.

  • I'd like to join in too please. Love reading and need to make time to make a dent in books and ebooks I have. I'm currently reading The book of life, all souls trilogy 3 by Deborah Harkness. Fantastic series.

  • I had a fab time yesterday afternoon listing my 50 books to read in 2015. Most of them were in the little bookcase in my bedroom:eek: I have included a few re-reads in my list, a couple of OH's books and a few to challenge me. I feel so much less pressured knowing what I will be reading, it feels so organised and how I want to live my life:)

I am loving The Book Thief, wow what powerful writing!
