I saw a book at the car boot this morning that I know is on my wish list but I was really good and put it back. Helped that hubby was with me and that discouraged me a bit. If I was on my own I would have bought it otherwise :D

I read, on average, a book a week.

This month I've bought 4 books.

So, as I was, at the end of last month!

  • Hi All xxxxxxxx

The only books I'm reading at the mo are mahussive textbooks off my uni reading lists!! Realistically I won't be doing too much reading for pleasure until the end of May. But the uni stuff is really enjoyable!

So far this year I've bought one book. This is a record for me, am really proud! So glad I found this challenge! xxxxxxxxxx

I very nearly gave in a minute ago when I got the new Book People catalogue ....thank heavens there is something wrong with their website today, that saved me from spending £ 25 to get the free postage! I know I really want that one (£ 8) but I have sooo many cookery books I have not really gone through.

Well done happygreen!! Lots of us on here understand that temptation only too well!

How about you make a deal with yourself - dig out a cookery book you haven't really used much and use it for a good few weeks, making lots of delicious food. Then maybe treat yourself to the cookery book next month?

I finished the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime which had been languishing in the motor home for over a year (so one more for the CS pile) and 3/4 of Bring up the bodies, need to get on and finish it instead of playing Freecell:o

I have been really good and not bought any books since I last looked in here, have a Book People brochure to look at though!

Good luck with all the uni reading Skinty:)

ive been wanting to read the shadow year by hanna richell ever since i read a chapter on the web last year. was delighted went i saw it in a charity shop on saturday for 75p. im already on page 142, its very good.
means ive got 3 books on the go at the mo. i started eddie izzards bio last year but never got further than page 14, ive only got a little of lifes operating manual left so will finish that before the weekend as ive promised it to a friend then said the school can have it for their key stage 4 resource library.

i did take my mum a big bag of books and dvds over at the weekend so ive cleared a few
