I finished 'Forgive me, Leonard Peacock' at the weekend. I quite enjoyed it even tho it was quite tough subject matter. It was well written and easy to get into.
I'm still making my way through 'Earthquake Weather and other stories' by Catherine Ryan Hyde, which is a collection of short stories. I think some have been brilliant and there have been others I haven't liked so much. Going to start Beautiful Creatures next. Another library book which means my tbr pile is not getting smaller but I've had it for ages so thought I should read it!No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21
No more buying DVDs ? 2018 target 27/52

Thanks, blindtoast. Looking at your stuff at the bottom - is there a thread for DVDs? And how to you get that bit at the bottom to write in your challenges? Others have done it too but I'm still fairly new hereFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

if you click on user cp on the top green band, then along the left hand side you'll get a list headed your control panel. the second one on the settings and options list is edit your signature click on that and you'll get a preview box and one below it that you can type in. cant remember how many words you are allowed to put in it but it will tell you when youve reached the maximum.
re the no more buying dvds thread here a link for that

also if when youve found a thread you like and want you go on regularly you can subscribe to it by clicking on 'thread tools' on the lower green band click on the subscribe to this thread then another window will open in that you need to click on the add subscription box. then whenever you click on your user cp button it will show you a list of the threads you subscribe to and you can easily find them without trawling through the whole forum.

Since I "looked in" last time I have read A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian and Nemesis by Jo Nesbo, plus several cookery books in respect of a Pressure Cooker and a Halogen Oven that I have recently bought.
Now reading Devil's Star - Jo Nesbo.
Two books awaiting delivery to CS tomorrow, nothing in so far this week:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I Love Jo Nesbo books but as I've read them all I'll have to be patient and wait for a new one! Got yet more Library reservations to collect so my own unread pile isn't getting any smaller yet, I've just started Strong Poison by Dorothy L Sayers on my Kobo. I've never read any of her books but thought I'd give one a try. Enjoying it so far."All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy"

I've just started a crossover book my youngest wanted to chuck out "Broken Soup" by Jenny Valentine (I think). So far I wouldn't be able to tell it's a teenager's book besides the characters' age , good story.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
