Since I last posted I've read "The Hypnotist" and "The Nightmare" - Lars Kepler, both very good but think I preferred "The Hypnotist". Then read "Gone Girl" - Gillian Flynn, well deserved of all the great reviews it gets (will have to get the other two now!). "The Secret History" - Donna Tartt was next, loved this so much, couldn't put it down and will reread at some point. But the most surprising one was "Life of Pi" as I didn't think this would be my sort of thing at all and I would go so far as to say it is one of the best books I've ever read ... absolutely brilliant! I've just started "Saigon" - Anthony Grey, will let you know how it goes.0

It's lovely reading about people's choice of books - provides me with some good recommendations.
Problem I have, is that I'm still buying. I try to download to my kindle some of the free ones, or the 20p ones (glad I did that with 'The 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared' - I gave up after reading 40% of it).
Love the 'Chicken Soup' series - have bought loads of these over the years.
Just thought on, I did go to the library the other day and borrow 'Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe' - loving it.
For those who can resist the temptation to buy - well done you. I'll go and slink into the corner with my head held in shame !I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -
Curlytop, i mostly buy books at the carboot sales so during the summer all my good work reading and giving away read books will be undone. inn reality all im really doing is clearing a bit of space for my summer purchases.
i love this thread and the good reads site for recomendations but i hardly have any friends on good reads. if anyone does want to be my friend im 'Diana' on there.SPC~12 ot 124
