  • Finally finished "Incendiary" by Chris Cleave. Bit of a strange book - can't say I enjoyed it but I did find that it was very easy to read and the writing flowed well. It was just very depressing all the way through! Still that's 1 book read from my tbr pile and a space made as I definately won't be reading it again.

I have now started "Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac" by Gabrielle Zevin. Another from my tbr pile - trying to read a few from my shelves before reading more library books. I really liked Gabrielle Zevin's last book - Elsewhere - so I'm hoping this one will be as good :)

  • ok so i have decided to keep another book from my neighbour instead of give it away to a friend:

This Is Improbable: Cheese String Theory, Magnetic Chickens, and Other !!!!!! Research (pb) by Marc abrahams

however i did decide not to keep another that i was considering, so i'm trying to be good. :D

it may well be that i'll revisit some of these and change my mind, too.

anyway, i've got about 100 pages or so to go with the book i'm currently reading, my signature is edited...yadda yadda *!!!!!!*

  • Have given away 2 books to BF - my Booky Wook 2 and the script of Donnie Darko.
I could not get through Booky Wook 2 for the life of me - I loved the first one but the second one just seemed so ridiculously self indulgent.

Have finished another of the True Blood series - From Dead to Worse - absolutely love the series and will reread again in future so staying with me :)

Boyfriend bought me Kickass graphic novel for my birthday, so that's on the shelf aswell.

And what a start to the reading year for Pickle...I've just finished my 6th book of the year 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky. :)

It's pretty good, but I think the end needs more than one read. I'm not sure what to make of it 100%.

Maybe now I will finally get to finishing Judi Dench's memoir...

  • happy friday peeps! i finished my book last night:

#11 The Killing by David Hewson 5/5

this was such a good read! lots of twists and turns that kept me clutching it to the detriment of housework, eating and all those non-essential pastimes :D i'll be passing it along though as i can't see myself reading it again now that i know the ending.

i've now picked up Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson and can already tell i'm going to like it.

have a great weekend everyone! it's snowing here, so even more excuse to curl up under a blanket with my furBoy and my book :)

  • Finally finished Fifty Shades Darker last night and moving on to Fifty Shades Freed. I'm not convinced by the series so far, but I'm intrigued to find out how it all works out in the end! Might be reading something of my OH's after this. He's got a book by an explorer/photographer he likes but his reading isn't great so I'm going to read it to him - an idea we got from my brother who has for some reason started reading to his girlfriend and is quite enjoying it, despite only normally reading entrepreneur type books!

Good to know - I enjoyed the first one but I doubt I'll go out of my way to read the second.

I've been a bit quiet on the reading front this week after a blistering start to the year. Will try to pick it back up again once the reasons that have caused the hiatus are resolved.

    Happy reading folks! :D

  • Reading "The Hypnotist" Lars Kepler at the moment and loving it so of course I had to buy "The Nightmare".
I'm not doing very well with this challenge to be honest, my TBR pile is growing almost daily (DH bought me a Kindle for 1st wedding anniversary! a couple of weeks ago - bad move, lol)
Last week I read Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn (brilliant!) and Capital - John Lanchester (love how he writes but a bit disappointed with the end of it, and wanted it to be longer).
Have 77 to read up to now, lots of Scandinavian stuff in there, and managed to get "The Bat" - Jo Nesbo for £5.24 off Ebay tonight (£1.99 +p&p) Result!!!
Anyway, I'm off to read a bit more of "The Hypnotist" before bed, Ill post again soon.
