Hi everyone! Finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman, really enjoyed it! Re-read Life of Pi for book club and then just finished Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker. Now I'm reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Lani Taylor.

Finished reading Living Dead in Dallas, ready to start Club Dead. Also about half way through Magicians Gambit.

Finished Daughter of Smoke and Bone and now on to Days of Blood and Starlight (also by Lani Taylor).

Was browsing The Works website earlier and added loads of books to my basket but managed to restrain myself and just close the page! That store is my downfall when it comes to books!

  • Oh dear I have ordered the True Blood series I'm not sure if it's going to be my thing but I've heard lots of good reviews on the series. The very naughty people aka the book people sent me a code for free delivery so I had to have a wee look and the were only £6.99 for the set so how could I say no? as I told dh it's roughly the same price as a choccie bar for each book.

Don't feel guilty about it think of the books as a reward for providing the charity with a donation:A
Well that's what I keep telling myself.

I got them for Christmas, am enjoying them but was surprised by how juvenile the writing feels, I'd have taken them for a teenagers series if I'd not watched the TV show first (and the books are very different to the show).

    greetings peeps!

i finished another keeper last night:

#17 The Secret History by Donna Tartt 5/5

    highly recommended.

i've now started The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.

i also found a few books on my shelves that i had forgotten to enter into my spreadsheet (not recent buys....in fact i'm not sure how they slipped through the net), so my library stats now look like this:

    in progress: 1
    read: 480
    reference: 67
    to read: 764
    total = 1312

so still quite a way to go :o

however i have a long, 6-day weekend starting tomorrow, and if i can grab a few minutes here and there not doing building work i hope to get plenty of reading done :)
