I'm hoping that when I go back to work next week after my maternity leave I'll have more time to work through my books. Hopefully it will help make a dent in the 99 books I've still got to readDid owe £9,951.96

Tonight my sister is coming over and, once I've got my twins to bed, we are going into my bedroom and I am going to overload her with books to take away!
Earlier this year I got into a bit of a habit of buying sets from the Book People when I really only wanted one or two of the books in there - hey, the sets were still cheaper than buying the books individually so my MINDSET was MSE!!
However, I've been lying in bed looking at them lately and I know there are a lot I probably will not ever read. She has a job where she is often sitting waiting for things - like on a split shift - and so she reads voraciously so I know she'll snap my hand off!
Things have got rather tight financially of late - what with the children starting school, lunches, uniform and bus fares etc.. so I know I won't be tempted to fill any shelves I manage to empty - at least not until Christmas as I plan on asking most everyone for the newly released books I'd like to read!
.... I'm not very good at this "no new books" thing am I?Sealed Pot 5 number 15440 -

Well, we are all getting there! It sounds like you've had your book LBM, so best of luck from hereon in: once you start using the library instead of Amazon, it really is amazing how many books you didn't need to buy in the first place!
And given that you are a bit tight for cash at the minute, could you not try selling some of the books online? If they are new/good condition you could do well for yourself given that Christmas is just around the corner. Try Ebay/Amazon/Green Metropolis etc. Who knows? You may end up considerably better off and manage to declutter at the same time! :beer:Please call me 'Pickle'

Have finally finished "The knife of never letting go" by Patrick Ness.
Seems to have taken me ages to read it - I enjoyed the story, the ending was unexpected and definately makes me want to read the next one (I have started the prequel 1st, which is very short I think - "The New World" - free on Kindle)
It seemed to be one of those books that I quite like but not enough to not put it down, which means it takes a while to read. So I've decided to read something else before I move onto the 2nd book - try and cut down on a few library books! No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.

Finished "The New World". Was good though i would have liked it to go a bit further on in the story. Think I'm either going to read "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman or "Before I Fall" by Lauren OliverNo more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.

Hi
Well i haven't bought any more books since I lasted posted (25/10/2012)
i have finished the book I was reading called "Eleven" by Mark Watson which I really enjoyed.
I also finished the audio book (Playaway) I was listening to called "The memoirs of an Imaginary Friend" by Matthew Green. I really enjoyed this. It was a bit strange as it was told through the eyes of the imaginary friend!!! Any of you who have had children with imaginary friends might find this an interesting read!!! Ceratinly made me think.
I am currently reading Finding Home by Roisin McAuley and listening to "The Glass of Time" by Michael Cox
I find I get through the Playaway listening books much faster as I listen to them with my earphones in when I am doing my housework/gardening or at the gym!! I hire them from the library and they cost 75p for 3 weeks. The Playaways have to be listened to through headphones and are much more compact (about the size of an mp3 player) than having 8cds to listen to. Also they can move
round the house with you.
I still have my huge pile of books in the attic to read, some of which I'm sure I won't ever get round to reading. I may try selling them through Amazon as someone else suggested. I hvae tried Green Metropolis in the past but they didn't seem to want any of the books I wanted to sell.
Anyway Happy reading everyone
Post again soon

I have now finished "Coraline" very good book though pretty strange and quite creepy. I thought it was a childrens book but it seemed a lot more adult than that.
Going to read "Heist Society" by Ally Carter next I think - I really like her Gallagher Girls book series so hopefully this will be just as goodNo more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
