Finished "The Road". I quite enjoyed it in an odd way. It's probably the strangest written book I've ever read - there's no concept of time or place and it took me a while to get into the way it was written but once I did it was very good.
Started "The knife of never letting go" now.No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21
No more buying DVDs ? 2018 target 27/52

I've been away for the weekend but in Friday before I went I finished reading 50 shades of grey.... Or my 'naughty book' as my boyfriend calls it. I have started on the second one out of sheer curiosity... I want to know why he is the way he is.*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

So there we go, I've finished 'The Power' by Rhonda Byrne.
Take 'The Secret'. Replace each phrase 'The Secret' with 'The Power'. Done!

Started The Yacoubian Building, not sure what I make of it so far but its nice light bedtime reading. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I've read two more books since my last update:
'The Darling Buds of May' by H.E. Bates. It's like the TV series, although there's more alcohol and Mariette is more of a slapper before she meets Charlie.
'The Paradox of Choice' by Barry Schwartz. Very, very interesting. It basically discusses how if we have no choice we are not happy, but that if we have an overabundance of choice, we are not happy, either. Highly recommended. Please call me 'Pickle'

welcome to our little group of book addicts
oh dfwboro, i wish i only had 34, mine are getting out of control. ive only listed the fiction to make my pile seem managable (not incluced are kids books like harry potters or biographys etc) and i scatter them round the house on different book shelves so they dont look quite as bad if you see them.
i bought 6 more over the last couple of weeks at the car boot, it was my hubbys fault he pointed them out to me and they were only 50p each so it seemed rude to leave them there.SPC~12 ot 124

I'm sure I've used that excuse before. We can't help it if we were well brought-up, though, can we?!Although I agree about 'only' having 34 books - I wouldn't know what was wrong with me! Still, from little book piles large libraries grow and we all started somewhere...it's just a pity our book-buying brakes aren't as active as our imaginations!

It will be a very long time before I become bookless - I must have 250 -300 books in the attic that I haven't read !! If I managed to read a book a month it would take me 25 years to read them all !! I'd be 75 !!
I just love buying books.
Even going to the library I have the full quota of 15 books plus I even have books out on my DS's card. I'm a bad case
Every time I go to the library I promise myself I will only take books back, but I always see another books that I Like the look of.
I must go into the attic and clear out some of the books I'm sure there are some I won't want to read.

Hi everyone I think I need to start posting again. This was my quote in February this year. Since then none of the booksin the attic have moved plus I've had at least 20 more to my stash!! The latest 2 at the weekend - 2 Martini Cole from a car boot sale t the weekend!!. I have been reading more but according to my stash and going to the library means that the book pile isn't decaying. The trouble is there are always new books coming out that attract my attention. I really am a lost case.
Anyway what have I read
Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin - enjoyed
Swimming pool Sunday by Madeleine Wickham ( Sophie Kinsella)
- easy read
Now reading Eleven by Mark Watson
I Adlai also listen to playaways ( talking books) which I get from the library. I listen when I'm at the gym or in the garden. With playaways you bed to wear headphones are than listen to them out loud.
That's all for today. I will post again soon.

I've just decided to return to using the library after a gap of several years. Just bought too many books and not enough space.
Really pleased with the library service in our area. Searching and reserving books online. Collection and return to any branch in the area. Only 80p to reserve per book and the facility to add a review when read. It seems to me that the library service has improved significantly. Probably something that we should all be using if only on the basis of 'use it or lose it'!0
