Morning all,
Well I've finally finished another book. Unless its a real page turner that I can't put down it tales me ages to finish books in term time.
I have just finished Homo Britannicus which is all about the ancient human occupation of Britain and is absolutely fascinating. It was written in 2006 so some info is a little out of date now but I have some more recent books on early humans on my to read pile and amazon wishlist - I'm such a nerd!
To counteract my nerd-ness I'm now going to read the Hunger Games!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015
Started renovating 2015
Renovation fund... what renovation fund? Emergency fund 40% Future fund... ongoing...0 -
I've just finished The Cleaning Bible by Kim Woodburn and Aggie McKenzie.
It took quite a while to polish off (pun intended), but it had some great tips on using more natural products for cleaning round the house. I may buy a copy for my brother when he moves out!

Just finished Underground Overground by Andrew Martin. This is a history of the London Underground which is both entertaining and informative. This could have been a very dry subject but the author brings a light touch and a lot of humour making for an excellent read. Highly recommended.0

I have 26 to read, 2 from the library and the rest are ones I've bought. Currently just started The Harbour by Francesca Brill set in 1940s Hong Kong. Sadly I'm far too tempted by Waterstones etc0

I've just finished Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki.
It's about money, how to earn it, keep it and how to not need to work for a living. It was very, very interesting. I need to have a little think about it and then maybe reread some bits again.
I also have an IN! My first in absolutely ages! It's called 'Herbs: A Complete Guide to Their Cultivation and Use'. It cost £1.49 at the charity shop.
I'm moving house on Friday. I am most definitely NOT looking forward to moving all my books! :eek:Please call me 'Pickle'

I'm reading Night of the Living Dead - well actually i've finished it and moved onto the second book 'Return of the Living Dead' which isnt as good.
I've traded in £22 of books on Amazon, another lady on a different thread told me about it, you just add you books and they tell you how much they will pay you for them, you print off a free postage label and they credit you for them in your Amazon account!

Hello! I've just found this thread. I have a shelf of books to be read but need to have a sort out on there. I read anything but science fiction. Only keep books I want to read again. Recycle to friends and family. A good way to encourage others to read too. My favourites are thrillers, crime and books about metaphysics.0

Like boddy I've only just found this thread and am into crime, mystery and thrillers.
I daren't count the books I have but am trying to get through some of them and take them to the charity shop to make some room.
I still have a pile of Stephen King books from when I was a teenager. As he got to the same age my eldest son read them all and added to the collection, he also has hundreds of books he doesn't want to part with.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Don't seem to have time to read much at the moment, but have finished the Yacoubian Building, and started Mad World. Still working on the Kindle list - its down to around 4300 now, but there are still another 5k or so to download when I next risk turning on the 3G!!
Like Pickle I'm moving house soon so have boxes of books and DVD's I want to sell on, so have been giving lists of them to the girls at work in the hope that they'll want to take some of them off my hands! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
