Eek - just bought a couple of books! It's A Dance with Dragons which is the 5th book in the Game of Thrones series. Thing is in paperback it has been released as two books part 1 and part 2 so do they count as one or two new books???

  • Well since my last post I've finished Cuckoo (not a bad read but I found most of the characters to be really unsympathetic so I can't say I enjoyed it) and have also read The Man Who Broke Into Auschwitz. The latter is not a book I would usually have picked up but it's my book club read for April so I decided to get an early start on it yesterday thinking it might take me a while. It's a compelling but at times disturbing read which in the end I've finished quickly.

I've also bought a book, one that I've been looking forward to the UK release of for a while. It's Brass Ring by Diane Chamberlain who is one of my favourite authors. I'm looking forward to reading that.

In the meantime I'm still reading Someone Like Adele.

Hi everyone, I definitely think I need to join in this challenge as every time I go shopping I end up buying more books! At the moment I'm half way through Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and wuite enjoying it to be honest! It's a library book so I'm not actually making a dent in the to be read pile at the moment!

im 3/4 of the way through mums list and really enjoying it. its not sad and doom ridden. The book is full of the positivity and love both parents had for each other and the two boys. i do find the detailed product mentioning makes some parts sound almost like adverts but i think the dad has just tried to put so much detail into the book hes even mentioning brands etc.
im glad im reading it and intend to pass it on to a friend once im done as i think she will also enjoy it.

Slightly O/T but does anyone know if there is a book club on here? I would like to join one and can't find one locally so wondered about one via this forum.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know if there's one on here but Mumsnet have a monthly book club on their forum xx

I've still not bought anything new but this week have had emails to tell me I've won three books from various places.

Am about 1/3 through 'The Duchess' by Amanda Foreman. Finding it quite hard going.
