Still plodding through The Duchess, but have finished three more on the Kindle. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

It's kind of a self help book. Basically a woman decided to create her own happiness project for a year, concentrating on a different area of her life each month and trying to improve it. She also had a list of 12 commandments to live by and 4 real truths (as well as a whole list of adult rules that every adult should know). Overall I thought it was pretty interesting and it's made me want to start my own happiness project.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

i watched the film which i enjoyed DD read the book and said book is better thats why im starting again with it.
my 50 for my 50th challenge is based on the good cause knitting i do (mostly through the knit a square on here and also loving hands) my aim is as im 50 this year:eek:, im going to knit 50 items by my birthday, the pattern ive chosen is one close to my heart its a little bodywarmer for prem babies, the pattern was designed by a lovely lady that used to post both on here and loving hands, she sadly passed away recently. Also my brother and his partner had twins born 3 months early last september one came home at christmas the other has had countless operations and is still in hospital 7 months after her birth contuining her fight to good health with the wonderful doctors and nurses there helping her every little step of the way. once ive knitting the items they will be sent to loving hands for distribution to hospitals and special care units where they are needed.
That sounds like a really good idea; my first was in special care when he was born and the hospital were so good it's lovely to be able to help out a bit in return isn't itsadly I can't knit so had to do other things but I know the little clothes that people had knit were so useful for the prem. babies cos you just couldn't buy things small enough.
I'll have to look out for the Time Travellers Wife on DVD it will be interesting to see how they do it.
I've been re-reading Anne McCaffrey books over Easter, they're a really easy read but I love them

Eek - looked up the 1001 books list online. I've read 25 (on the most recent list) so only 976 to go :eek:. At the rate I read I should finish them when I'm 67 :eek::eek:. Think I'll try to get through my 'to read' shelf first. Now if I could just stop adding to it!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012

hi reading lesely pearce .. belle but its so sad x
im back to work saturday after a few weeks on the sick so the reading will slow down a bit x0 -
Am still reading Dave Gorman - which is very good but has made me want a dart board! Was on holiday last week and had no time at all to read - I seem to sometimes go on incredibly packed holidays!
I did buy a book while I was there (Jersey) though - The Invention of Hugo Cabret. It is a book that I've been looking for for ages and it was on offer in Waterstones. Had a bit of a shock when they added tax to it though - they don't seem to put tax on anything else - think they're just trying to be difficult doing the opposite to England! So not quite as cheap as I had 1st thought but still not full priceNo more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21
No more buying DVDs ? 2018 target 27/52
