Slightly O/T but does anyone know if there is a book club on here? I would like to join one and can't find one locally so wondered about one via this forum.
Thanks in advance.0 -
I've now finished The Wedding Girl, very enjoyable easy read. Not sure what to read next, I dont really fancy any of the books in my bookshelf... maybe i'll try and continue with Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill, or Under the Dome by Stephen King - anyone else read them?Nov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the Angel at No 33, I got that out of the library the other day. Not a great help in reducing the pile of stuff I've got to read but at least I didn't spend any money! No More Buying Books - Books Read 15/Books Bought 3

Finished my quick read book - was quite good but felt like i wanted to know what happened next - it ends quite abruptly. I've now started Forgotten by Cat Patrick. So far so good. I bought some books on Saturday but they are ones I've been looking for for a while (and they were cheap) so don't feel too bad about itNo more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21

Finished 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and have started 'The Dutchess' and have deleted another 20 ebooks from my Kindle that I don't ever expect to read - definately thinking like Tesco, in that every little helps, as far as getting the numbers to a realistic number to actually read. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Evening all!
I finished Testament of Youth at last! I must say I found it absolutely fascinating. I can't say I 'enjoyed' most of it as I find WWI very emotional and reading of her losses was heartbreaking but I'm very glad I have read it. Some parts were difficult to understand as she discusses at length the politics of the post-war period which I know very little about, but the details of her life and and work provide a window on the past. I will be keeping this book and I only keep books I love.
Have just started Heartstone by CJ Sansom. Has anyone read any of the Shardlake series? I am looking forward to living and breathing Tudor London again
I've also just spent half an hour browsing books on amazon and have added Evolution a human story, The complete world of Human Evolution and The origin of our species to my wishlist. Overkill much?? I have to read a lot of books before I let myself buy anything though!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." just spotted this thread and could not resist! books have kind of turned from a hobby of mine to a down right obsession! my friend commented that i don't read books anymore--i hoard them! (she's kind of right!) but I work in a bookshop and it's so hard to resist temptation! I managed to get rid of 2 shelves of books just after christmas, but it was hard! i love books more than clothes or shoes;)
I am reading Heaven by Christoph Marzi for our dark romance book club at the moment, it's pretty good so far... like a modern retelling of Snow White. I do love teen books. Full of angst, the paranormal and pretties!
I read the Confusion of Princes by Garth Nix a few weeks ago and if you like techno space operas with loads of action and nifty gadgets it's definitely for you! I loved it:)
I have been very good lately and the only book I've bought was bought with a giftcard given to me by one of my bosses, and I have another gift card i'm saving to buy Laurell K Hamilton's new book. I'm been very good!
(of course all bets are off when it comes to the freebies!)
I'm loving hearing what everyone is reading on here!LBM: January 2012

Welcome to the gang!
I love Garth Nix's Abhorsen (sp?) trilogy so so much. I had difficulty tearing myself away from them for long enogh to write my dissertation  We ended up naming our dog after The Disreputable Dog! Kibbeth didn't suit her so we call her Dissie. You should see peoples faces when we tell them her full title! Unfortunately she lives up to her nameI know what you mean when it comes to obsession :rotfl:

Has anyone read any books by Peter James? He is one of my favourite authors, and I LOVE the Roy Grace series! I'd highly recommend him as a British crime authorNov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails
