Well done! It's a great feeling :T
I've said this before but have just remembered why I said it in the first place - I am never reading a novel or book about WW1 again. Ever. Even if it is a present and I feel guilty about not reading it. I started the day with tears yesterday and again todayand I'm not even half way through. On the bright side she only has a few close friends and family members left to die in a horrific and pointless way before the end of the book
Sorry - just needed to vent! Despite all this I can't put it down. Hope everyone else is enjoying their books!!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

It's called Testament of Youth and it's the memoirs of Vera Brittain who was a nurse during WWI. I've read a few novels set in WWI in the past and ended up deciding not to read any more as it is the one subject that makes me cry without fail. However my Mum gave me this book and it's been in my 'to read' pile longer than any other. It is really really good and I find the parts about her nursing and work in malta fascinating but the letters between her and her fiance, brother and friends are heartbreaking. My OH usually tells me not to worry because "it's not real" when it's a novel and "it happened a long time ago" in this case but I can't help but relate it to my life today.
I'm just a big wimp when it comes to these things!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

I've just finished "Me Before You" by JoJo Mayes (I think!). Really good. Didn't end how I thought it would. Def going to pass to my sister and mum before I either charity shop or Zapper it. Well worth a read. Light but thought-provoking.
Tonight, assuming I can stay awake, I will try to finish 77 Shadow Street (Dean Koontz).
Two more down!

Ive just parcelled up 37 hardback books to post to Zapper and Webuybooks (dependant on who gave me the best price). I feel pleased with myself as I sit here and look at the gaps on my shelves HOWEVER . . . this Saturday the village church is having a "Books Galore" sale in the church hall. I feel a few purchases coming on!
Im currently working through Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs and a book on the life of Caravaggio by Andrew Graham Dixon.
Once these have been finished I have 17 others on my "yet to read" shelf.0 -

I decided that my I would try to sell some of my stash of unread books (250-300) I might as well try and sell rather than just let them sit in the attic. If I read them before they sell then fine. If I sell them before I read them then I can always put them on my to read list and get them from the library or download them onto the Kindle which I got for my birthday a couple of weeks ago!!!
I tried to list them on zapper but it kept saying they didn't want them. But reading this thread lots of people seem to sell on zapper - was I just unlucky.
