missladyannie you can add postage costs to an item if it's heavy to cover it. I usually have a look at what other people selling the same book are charging, you can also weigh the book and check the price on the post office website.
I wasn't feeling well over the weekend but managed to finish What the Romans did for Us. It was really interesting and I'm glad I read it. It would have been even more useful as my class topic this term is the Romans but I'm off sick until the end of term!
Off to update my sig. Happy reading everyone"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

missladyanne I advertised one book on Greenmetropolis last year and sold it within a couple of weeks. I thought I would have another go this year. I listed 5 books last weekend and sold one of the this weekend. £3 will be credited to my Greenmetropolis account which I can use to buy other books from the site or withdraw into my bank account. It cost me 92p to send the book.
You can add postage from what I can gather to heavier items to cover the postage.
Have you read the post at the beginning of this thread which shows where you can buy or swap books

missladyanne - another site that you can sell books on is zapper.co.uk. I haven't sold anything on there yet. What you appear to do is enter the bar code on the book, they will then tell whether they will accept the book or not. If they accept the book they tell you how much you get for the book. You then send the books off to them free of charge and they will pay you the money. The value of the books you are selling has to be at least £10.
I think that's how it works. Has anyone used this site? i would be interested to hear feedback. Thanks Jarus xx:jCross stitch cards completed 2010 -1

Well, I'm now down to 20 books on my to-read pile, so very proud of myself. However, I'm planning to break my oath and spend, spend, spend at a book fair coming up in a couple of weeks time where my parents live. It has thousands of books, dirt cheap and sets me up with reading material for months!
And Blindtoast - I'm looking out for World War Z! You're the third person now to recommend it. It was on my Amazon wish list at Christmas, but no one got it for me!0 -

I've just finished two books Something from Tiffany's by Melissa Hill - I was a little bit disappointed as it seemed to be lacking the unpredictability of her earlier works. The second was Perfect match by Jane Moore which has been on my bookshelf for donkeys years, and I really enjoyed.
Just started on Jane Fallon's The Ugly Sister, which I found in the charity shop after not getting it for Christmas
In the middle of trying to fing a tenners worth of books for Zapper and also have a box for amazon trade in - my bookshelf is breathing a sigh of relief!!

Finished the 3rd Hunger Games book on Saturday - was brilliant and the ending did not disappoint.
I also finished reading "The Facebook Killer" - a free book for Kindle. Not a bad read though it finished on a To be continued and I'd have to pay for the 2nd part so I'm not going to read that for a while.
Have now started "Diary of a witness" by Catherine Ryan Hyde.No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
