That is tricky, but Twilight is really popular so I bet you know someone who could lend you the rest of the books?
I'm reading No Country for Old Men at the moment, but I'm going through a phase of just wanting to read something that isn't quite so..harrowing...Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0 -
I have got my reading bug back :j:D:j:D and having read a few books recently, thought that it would be nice to start keeping a note of the books I read and my thoughts on them - not a blog as such or writing a review for publishing on the web but just something i can look back on myself in five years time and remind myself what I was reading circa august 2011 and my thoughts. so I was thinking that I would include things like whether the book was borrowed (library or otherwise) or owned (bought new or charity shop) paperback/hardback, no. of pages and how long it took me to read. I was thinking of having different categories - but know I shouldn't make it too complicated so perhaps no more than four categories perhaps ? what categories should I have ?0

Flat Eric have a look at goodreads - they let you add the books you read to 'shelves' which you can designate yourself, and can review them - be it a simple star rating or writing one, might cover what you're looking for? It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I have, in spectacularly maHOOSIVE fashion, failed lately.
I'm talking utterly UTTERLY lost the plot.
In my (very weak) defence I'm fighting a nasty bout of depression (just started counselling) and nightmare pain with my long-standing back problem where I have been told that yes, I need an operation but I need to find the MANY thousands of pounds it will cost myself as the NHS aren't funding it at the moment.
So The Book People think I'm their best customer ever due to order after order and the staff in Tesco offer me a trolley if they see me heading towards the book section.
Forgive me MSE-ers for I have sinned. Mightily.
Currently reading The Five People You Meet In Heaven which is oddly interesting - though sometimes the message hits you a bit later, other times it's very obvious. I also have Tuesdays With Morrie by the same author which I'll probably start next.
I have the first Game Of Thrones book waiting for me on my bedside table and Justin Croner's "The Passage" nagging me to get back to it as I started and then put it to one side.
The only "good" thing about depression is that all I can be bothered to do once I've been to work, looked after my children and put them to bed, is sit in my recliner and read. Can't even be bothered to watch TV these days.
Finally, this is not a poor-me post, not looking for sympathy just.. admitting my bad book behaviour of late and checking back in!

Sessie it sounsd to me like those puchases have been medicinal
Good luck with the counselling, my other half is a couple of sessions in to his latest course, and still fighting against being put on meds as they'll mean he can't go away next year like he wants to.
I'm still sinning once a week by buying the Times Contemporary collection books but other than that have been fairly well behaved, I've got four paperbacks already packed in my suitcase ready for my holiday next month and am still downloading anything and everything that amazon offer as a freebie to my Kindle. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hi all,
Just finished Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King, which was brilliant. I havent read Stephen King for years, since my twenties in fact and I forgot how gripping he can be!
Started When God was a Rabbit by Sarah Winam and its very good so far!
Also read The Songwriter by Beatrice Colin which was good but not as good as Lily Aphrodite.

Sessie - I agree, those purchases do sound like medical necessities. It must also be nice to be treated like royalty in a supermarket
Also, I love love love The Five People You Meet in Heaven! Beautiful book. My dad has given me a CD for my e-reader, which has most of the Game of Thrones books on, so I can start that if I ever finish No Country for Old Men, Usually I whizz through books at high speed, but this one is pretty slow going for me.
How do you all feel about e-readers/kindles? I was dead against them in the beginning because I like the feel/smell of a book, and going to book shops etc (lol), but when I went traveling, my e-reader was a lifesaver. Plus I love all the free books you get too, so they can be money saving! (I still love a 'real' book though). Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0
