Thanks SF! I've put it on my request list at the library.
Finished Gone With the Windsors, I enjoyed it very much and I've now started Mr Starlight also by Laurie Graham. So far, really good!

Wow, just caught up on a few weeks worth of posts and have several books for my wishlist and an urge to go to Asda and look for £1 books!!
Just sorted my tax return, so can get back to reading but have read 2 books this year. Patricia Scanlan Coming Home for Christmas (Nice but short) and Sienna Lewis Intimate Adventures of an Office Girl (very raunchy!). I have started the Michael McIntyre Biography and my Dad has given me the New James Patterson Alex Cross book I got him for Christmas so will move onto that one next!

Finished Mr Starlight - really enjoyable read, very engrossing.
Just started Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind by Ann B Ross - this is from the TBR pile ( at last) . All my recent reads have been from the library!

I would like to join in with this. I always have a book on the go and I buy them from charity shops and then donate them back when I have read them or swap them with friends, otherwise my whole house would be taken over. I will just keep one spare on the go from now on.0

Also - for people talking about audiobooks, are you counting them in your list as well? I'm not...maybe i should?
Anyway i download mine from audible.com. I always google the radio times audible offer for 2 free credits and sign up with a different email address. After downloading your two, go to cancel my account it will ask you why, say your are trying to reduce expenses and they will let you have another download for freeThen cancel the account!
So if anyone wants to get some free audio books...thats how!
I've done this with Audible too but they seem to be wise to me now. I used different e-mail addresses and different credit cards but the last time I tried they said I couldn't have the free trial, or the half-price trial as it is for new customers only. I'm going to get my parents to do the free trial then three months/2credits for £7.99 (if it's still available) for my birthday. I don't mind paying for them but £18+ each is a bit too much for me and I don't want to be tied to a year's contract at £7.99 a book.
As for including my audio books on my TBR list, I am almost at the end of my penultimate book, which is number two in a series of seven. I only go for specific audio books, rather than just picking up a book because I like the cover. The type I listen to varies but if I really like a book and want to reread it I often get the audio version so I can listen in the car.
Nearly 30 years ago I bought two books which turned out to be parts 1 and 3 of a trilogy. Thinking that I'd better wait until I could find No.2, I put them in my (then very small) bookcase and forgot about them. A few years ago I found number 2 at a boot sale and read the first three books of the Apprentice Adept series, now seven books, by Piers Anthony. I read the other four in e-format and now have real paper versions of all of them. I have the first 3 in audio form and am now after the other four. They are brilliant and I wish I hadn't waited 25+ years to read them !!!
To those of you who asked the question "do you judge the book by the cover ?" in this case I would say yes, as I was 15 when I bought the first two books and one had a naked lady robot on the cover.:rotfl:0 -

It might have been me. My local doesn't have everything in it that I want (especially foreign languages), but they have most books. If I added up all the books I've read from the library this past year, I would have saved a fortune! :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

Forgive me MSE-ers for I have MIGHTILY sinned....
Hit a HUGE depression recently, winter blues (which I get every year, but is getting worse), major back problems causing pain and sleeplessness, big changes at work .. yada yada... excuses... have resulted in me buying a good chunk more books. Some of them were bought with Xmas gift tokens (so I don't feel TOO bad about those) and others from a cheap bookshop that opened for a couple of months for Christmas and January only (3 paperbacks for £2, that sort of thing) but The Book People have had a good portion of my spare cash lately too.
I am therefore RE-resolving from today "NO. MORE. BOOKS!".
I will try to post my list of "unreads" in the next few days - I reckon it will be over 100 - and I hereby truly utterly resolve to buy NO MORE until these are gone.
Of course, I am typing this in the local library where I have just taken out two audiobooks on CD to listen to on a night.....:p.
