When I was listening to 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' I asked the same thing and somebody else decided that it did. ;)

    And 75p each - that's really :money:

I have listened to all but two of my (rather large) collection of audio books, so I would have had to get some new ones soon anyway, so I don't feel tooooooo gulilty.

I also got 1% back on my Amex card and 84p cashback by going through TopCashback, so that's another £1. Love this moneysaving money for nothing.:j

    Hello all,

I was a bit dubious about reading 'Room'. I thought the subject matter would be to harrowing but when it was Booker shortlisted I decided to take the plunge.
I couldn't have been more wrong. Because its written from the perspective of the child its not harrowing at all.
It is a fantastic book and I can't recommend it highly enough. I couldn't put it down and it makes you think in a totally different way.

    Thanks

    Robson

Hey there SF - let me know what you think about Room - I saw it in Water$stones and quite fancied it - I'd be interested to know what you think.
I'm half way through and it's amazing! :j

I have Room on my wish list...I read a bit in a mag about it and it sounded okay, but then the blurb on the back put me off...
I'm the same normally, but it's really good so far :)

I think that too - and I'm only half way through! :D

I've been eyeing up Room on Amazon for a while now, i might wait till i've made a bigger dent on my book list before i buy it.

Finished Ritual - Alex Duval yesterday, onto the next one Legacy now.

I'm wondering these books are 2 in one bind up type things, i have been counting them as 2 books though? Do you think i should? I mean technically they are 2 different books, but just put together in 1 book to make it easier to read?

Also - for people talking about audiobooks, are you counting them in your list as well? I'm not...maybe i should?

Anyway i download mine from audible.com. I always google the radio times audible offer for 2 free credits and sign up with a different email address. After downloading your two, go to cancel my account it will ask you why, say your are trying to reduce expenses and they will let you have another download for free :) Then cancel the account!
So if anyone wants to get some free audio books...thats how!

I've got 'Not Buying It' out of the library and am reading it cos you guys have mentioned it.

It's pretty interesting. And really making me think about the idea of consumption, even of things I wouldn't have necessarily considered that I consumed per se.

Food for thought, it seems. *Insert thinky smiley*

  • I have a bookcase from ikea...i think they are called Billy bookcases? Well a while ago they were doing special editions ones for charity, mines has William Shakespeare quotes all over it!!! Plus i have my cupboard stuffed full of books, of course only the good ones go on the shelf to display! :)

Also what did you think of Shiver and Linger? I've not started the series yet, Shiver has been sitting on my bookshelf for about 6 months though and i think once i am finished the Vampire Beach series i will start that.

I'll admit I bought shiver purely on the basis of the cover, so I didn't have any ideas what it was about. as soon as I finished it, I went out and bought linger. If you into fantasy, I'd reccomend it.

Thank you!! I buy alot of books based on their covers too :D
