So he started reading really easy first readers, and has now progressed to Horrid Henry and Jiggy McCue books. They are aimed at maybe 8-12 year olds and he loves them. I am just proud of him for reading anything at all.
Wow - that's amazing! :T
Here's to him progressing and enjoying reading for many years to come! :cool:Please call me 'Pickle'

Er, do audio books count ? I just couldn't resist 29 Piers Anthony Xanth audio books for about 75p each from E-bay. Enough for a whole year of journeys to work.:j
When I was listening to 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' I asked the same thing and somebody else decided that it did.
And 75p each - that's really :money:Please call me 'Pickle'

Just Finished Bloodlust and Initation - Alex Duval ...2 in 1 bind up type thing in the bath. Vampire Beach series
Not really a great series, has nothing on Vampire Academy or House of Night but it's easy to get into, and something i don't have to think tool much about. I have the next 2 to read, might start them tonight.
Also, P.C Cast, who writes the House of Night series was signing in Glasgow tonightI couldn't go as it's my wee brother's birthday and we had a meal and that for him.....that is family love right there!! haha!

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago with my mum's birthday and Ian Rankin. However, God rewarded me for being a good Pickle and I got to see him a few years later, so hope is not all lost, littlepinkstars!

I have no where to store my books and promised hubby I would get rid of some before I buy anymore. The problem is I tend to read series of books so end up with lots. I've got my Twilight series, true blood and House of Night on ebay atm. I have my eye on the Morganville vampire series.
I have also read Shiver and Linger (from your list), I haven't read Lament but I don't think it's connected to the other books, although there is a third due out soon for this series - Forever. I'm glad to see The Host is low down on your list
I have a bookcase from ikea...i think they are called Billy bookcases? Well a while ago they were doing special editions ones for charity, mines has William Shakespeare quotes all over it!!! Plus i have my cupboard stuffed full of books, of course only the good ones go on the shelf to display!
Also what did you think of Shiver and Linger? I've not started the series yet, Shiver has been sitting on my bookshelf for about 6 months though and i think once i am finished the Vampire Beach series i will start that.0 -

Oops, just realised that the auther of this book is Judith Lennox!0 -

Bought another 3 books from A$da for £1 each though.. oop
Hey there SF - let me know what you think about Room - I saw it in Water$stones and quite fancied it - I'd be interested to know what you think.
I'm currently reading Gone With the Windsors by Laurie Graham - one of my favourite authors. Its the story of Edward and Mrs Simpson from the viewpoint of a fictitious close friend. Its written in diary style and is really interesting and cleverly done. Nearly finished it though - the TBR pile beckons!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
I have Room on my wish list...I read a bit in a mag about it and it sounded okay, but then the blurb on the back put me off...
My admission would be that I do judge a book by it's cover....do you ??;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
.shiver and linger sound good-on the amazon recommends list.(i will resist i will resist)Finished tug of war by Catherine Forbe, easy to read te only problem is it had a list of other books written by her on the back page so i want to read these aswell now.Going to read the hungry years, confessions of a food addict-william leith alongside Ghost town...trying not to get into it because another one comes out soon and i know if i am up to date with the series i will buy it!!£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
