Hi all,
Been lurking around on this thread for a while! Interesting to see what other people are reading, and are going to read. Im so bad when it comes to charity shops and car boots! My OH goes mad, I spend ages looking at books, which he has to wait around whilst I do, and then I buy a few which then go on the mounting pile at home! He says, why do you need more books, you ve still got loads you havent read yet - It is an addiction!
Well, I never finished the series of Harry Potter, I love the books Ive read so far, and the films, and I know the last film is out in June, so ive decided to not buy any more books and start from the beginning again and finally finish the series before the film comes out!
Another great thing is that there a couple of us at work who all read, and we bring books in for each other that we have read and pass them on to each other. FREE! : )0 -
Despite all the contraversy about Enid Blyton, it was her books that hooked me into reading as a young child and gave me the love of books have had all my adult life!
What exactly IS all the controversy about EB? And she did something similar for me, too.
And how rude of me! All the best to you with the rest of your pregnancy, Caroline. Perhaps you should read aloud and get your baby hooked on books in utero! Please call me 'Pickle'
No More Buying Books: ???
No More Buying DVDs: ???
NMB Toiletries ??? and I've gone back for my Masters at the University of Use Ups!
Proud to be dealing with her debts 1198~

My hubby never read until he met me and even then didn't like it too much as he struggled with the words. So he started reading really easy first readers, and has now progressed to Horrid Henry and Jiggy McCue books. They are aimed at maybe 8-12 year olds and he loves them. I am just proud of him for reading anything at all.
Anyway, my point there was that I bought him Enid Blyton books at Christmas...the full set of Magic Faraway Tree....and I just had to read them over the Christmas and New Year period...they were brilliant and really took me back to my childhood...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -

Forgive me for jumping in.
I was just browsing through the thread - looking for ideas to sell/swap some of my books. But having been drawn to littlepinkstars list my amazon wish list had just taken a hammering. It seems we have very similar taste in books.
Anyway - I have taken the plunge and listed some of my booksets on ebay.0 -

No problem! I tend to only read YA/supernatural/vampire type of stuff, i feel i need to broaden my horizons a bit, after i've got through this lot i plan on reading some classics.
If you even need any recommendations about young adult books though, let me know
I don't think i could sell any of my books, i'm such a book snob! I like to have them on display.0 -
Oh classics - my only other genre is cheesy chick-lit.
I have no where to store my books and promised hubby I would get rid of some before I buy anymore. The problem is I tend to read series of books so end up with lots. I've got my Twilight series, true blood and House of Night on ebay atm. I have my eye on the Morganville vampire series.
I have also read Shiver and Linger (from your list), I haven't read Lament but I don't think it's connected to the other books, although there is a third due out soon for this series - Forever. I'm glad to see The Host is low down on your list0 -
Just finished House Rules by Jodi Picoult and am onto Room by Emma Donoghue
Bought another 3 books from A$da for £1 each though.. oop

Er, do audio books count ? I just couldn't resist 29 Piers Anthony Xanth audio books for about 75p each from E-bay. Enough for a whole year of journeys to work.:j
Just finished reading Lee Child's "The Visitor", which was excellent, and am going to get one of my kids to pick me a random book from my TBR pile tonight.0 -
