  • Well I finished "push" by Saphire in 2 days but it's quite a short book thank god as I didn't really enjoy it!
Then the last 2 days I cut down on my internet use and have started reading "The snowman" by Jo Nesbo which I have had lying about since september :D It's really good so far.

Managed to resist the temptation of waterstones on the way home from work aswell, go me!

    Hi All,

    My name is Dee-Dee and I'm a bookaholic! :o

I LOVE my books and although I try to keep it MSE and charitable by buying from charity shops rather than bookshops I still buy a ridiculous amount of books. I must have over 1000 and there are a fair few that I still haven't read, yet I keep buying more and more.

I really need to save some money this year and to be honest I'm running out of space as we have books stacked up all around the house as I hate to part with my books.

If it is ok I'd really like to join this challenge and I'd like to pledge to the following:
    • I will not buy any books from bookshops this year (apart from spending my birthday and Christmas vouchers).
    • I will have a clear out of books that I have read and know that I will never read again. These books will be sold or given to charity.
    • I can buy 1 book for every 2 that I sell / donate and I will only buy from charity shops.
Wish me luck everyone - I think I'm going to need it :D And thanks for this great idea.

Finished Reading "Round about a Pound a week".:T:T:T:T:T

A life changing book about how working class people budgeted and spent their wages in the early 1900s.

Everytime I read this book it made me feel incredibly lucky!

    Happy Reading

Welcome, Dee! Best of luck - I must admit, I've been making my way through my books much more since I joined this challenge. Hopefully it will work well for you, too. :)

Setmefree2, that 'Round a Pound' book sounds really interesting. Might have to get it out of the library sometime. ;)

another one off my tbr list, read "diva's dont knit" by Gil McNeil over christmas and am 3/4 way through the sequel. really enjoying them. about a widowed mum who goes back to the seside town she grew up in to take over the running of her grans wool shop.
promised my mum i will read some more Lynn Andrews next as she likes those once ive finished with them so they get passed on to her and then her friends and eventually end up at a charity shop.

done nothing since dinner except finish reading needles and pearls (the follow up book) so got to get something done pretty quick now like make a lasagne and tidy the upstairs landing of christmas clutter.

going to start 'across a summer sea' by lyn andrews later

I would highly recommend it. I bought an old copy of an Amazon supplier for a couple of quid.

  • Hi everybody

Just had a quick relook at my 'Clear Your Clutter' book by Karen Kingston. She has a section on people with lots of books. By clearing out excess books she says you can make room for new interests & relationships.

I was spurred on before Christmas, have finished 'The Weaker Vessel' by Antonia Fraser, and one of the books about the Civil War, Also the book by John McCarthy & Jill Morrell about the time he was a hostage in Beirut. Enjoyed all these.

One novel about the Gunpowder Plot has gone to my mother.

Now have on the Go 'The Secret Life of Water' by Masaru Emoto (amazing book, the pictures of water crystals are so interesting, did you know water responds to different words in different ways? ), I'm still on a book about the British constitution, (nearly finished) and another book on the Civil War. Also a book about Celtic things, a novel about Welsh life about 100 years ago(nearly finished this too) and the autobiography of a Welsh Punk Rocker (hadn't realised how well known the group had been). Oh and a John Grisham novel. (this won't take me long I don't think).

Have only acquired 2 new books - one I was given for Christmas, old Celtic tales. And one came free with a magasine!
