What applies in a professional context may not apply in civilians' affairs of the heart. If the police are interested in this they patently have far too much time on their hands. I'd bet a fiver he gets short shrift at the police station if he isn't actually laughed out of the place. If I was a copper I'd consider booking him for wasting police time.

I'd have set up a website, plastered the mails on there and sent the URL to EVERYONE on his mailing list. Kept an offline copy of the site and if he got it shut down then I'd have just hosted it elsewhere again and again and again And kept his mailing list too and posting it on his facebook - you name it.
