The Bad Mummies Thread

There is a diff between being a bad mummy and neglect though. Smoking and I assume getting drunk when pregnancy both feel are disgsting. k the tin of pineapple is a bad mummy accident but funny? dont see how its funny
As for allowing your child to put a young baby in a pram and push it around a bumpy field its obvious it will fall out thats irresponsible
This is the only post Ive seen that Ive judged on this thread
I must be worse than Cider then because I caught my DS chewing a cloth that had flash on it that I'd just used to clean the floor..of the toilet.
There was nothing obvious about the baby falling out...it was just an accident. I'm starting to think that maybe you're not getting the point of this/or belong on this thread. It was started so we could confess our sins...I would also like to know if you would like to judge me - I ate brie when I was pregnant
Cider clearly didn't neglect her kids or she would have been posting about her boys being taken off her
If you don't like a post then just bypass it like it doesn't exist and we'll continue to have a nice, friendly enviroment to keep confessing as the days go by :cool:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

OH I do get the point of this post and its common sense that the baby was going to fall outWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Smacking isn't illegal in this country.Still, if you think that smacking is 'pure evil' then thats up to you. I wouldn't take some of these posts too seriously if I was you, I would guess there is a little bit of exageration going on. As far as smoking while pregnant, years ago people didn't know the potential risks [and they are potential, not definite] so many women did smoke during pregnancy.
would you smack a adult for not doing as you say, swearing, spitting etc? no you wouldnt as it would have serious consequences so why smack a defenseless little person who cant defend themselves. what does it actually teach them other than to hit someone who doesnt do what you tell them to? violence is wrong its not right just cos your 20+ years older than the person your hitting
as for smoking there has been loads of research into it and its proven its harmful to your baby both when pregnant and born for a start it increases the risk of cot death but if your willing to risk your childs health possibly life for a selfish habit that also dangers your own health and others around you then thats your decisionWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Not really...I didn't expect my son to fall out of his pram whilst he was asleep but he did.
Would you like us to all club together and send you some more bubblewrap? You must be running low :cool:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Emweaver it might be a good idea to pretend this thread just isn't here. We get the message, you're just going to get your blood pressure up. We are all now aware of the risks of smoking and whatnot.
None of us are perfect, and tbh kids are not made of glass, I think outside on grass is a good place to fall over, better than flying off a swing (those are made for kids by the way) and getting a broken arm on concrete.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I fear this is yet another good thread designed to make people feel a little less guilty about not being the "perfect mother" that is going to be ruined due to people having to judge what has been written.
Please dont ruin it by turning it into some sort of debate over what is right or wrong. We have all made mistakes and not used our best judgment at times we are human after all. This thread was designed to eliviate the guilt over such things by letting all mothers out there know they are not alone in doing things wrong sometimes.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

Smacking is a matter of opinion. Plenty of people do think it helps children learn right from wrong, it used to be much more common, certainly when I was a child no one thought it was wrong at all. There again, children were expected to behave themselves in those days.0 -
To get the thread back on track:
I'm a bad Mummy because
1. I got my OH to fix a lock on my twins' wardrobe because I got sick of them pulling all their school clothes out and creasing them up on the floor
2. I keep them upstairs until their rooms are tidy at the weekends, when they have done that, THEN they come down and play.
3. I have told bus drivers my children are under 5 when they are not.
4. Sometimes I let them wear the clothes they wore yesterday if they are not dirty
5. They don't have a shower every day, maybe 2 or 3 a week, or an extra one if there is a 'major incident'
6. I've got DD3 (who only likes things with the nutritional value of cardboard) to try new foods by using ice cream as a bribe.
7. Sometimes we take the DS on the bus to entertain the little 2.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

This thread is brilliant and really funny and yes i'm a bad mummy for lots of reasons. BUT the bit about slapping your kids because it makes such a pretty sound is not nice at all and overstepping the line if you ask me. Sorry everyone can shout at me now....0
