Ok I need to join the bad mummies; time to fess up.....
I have formula fed DD using tap water since she was 6 months old (no ill effects!)
I haven't sterilised anything since she was 3 months old
I have never fed her any baby food only mashed up stuff that we are eating
Sometimes I let DS eat cookies for breakfast
I bribe DS with chocolate ice-cream to get him to eat all his dinner
I use disposable nappies and wipes
I wipe the kids faces with baby wipes even when we are in the house
I use biological washing powder and clean with bleach0 -
Avatar is such a good film I didn't want to deprive my 4 year old the joy of watching it.0

i am a bad mummy cos i took my son on a slide when he was 2 and while we were coming down i panicked (it was a big slide)and didnt hold on to him properly and his leg went under me and broke, then we made him walk on it as we didnt think it was anything serious. still feel bad about it even tho he doesnt remember it0

ETA: My MIL left her son in his pram outside a shop as they did in those days, did her shopping and then went home without him, she completely forgot she had left him there!! At least I'm not that bad!
My MIL could beat that ....at 15 days old, she left OH on the kitchen table when she and OH's godmother went down to the air-raid shelter in Portsmouth in WWII ......OH's godmother had to go back & collect him!0 -
This thread has made me roar with laughter.
I'm a bad mummy because....- I smoked through all 3 pregnancies
- I also used to go to the pub regularly when expecting DS1 (and not for a lemonade)
- I vowed never to give them dummies and gave in a few days after bringing DS1 home
- I weaned all my boys at 10-12 weeks, my excuse was they were hungry babies, but mostly it was because I couldn't wait
- They've all slept in with us at various stages
- I had a tin of pineapple chunks open on the table and DS3 cut his fingers really badly
- I use the tumble dryer as an iron
- When they got on my nerves stuck in whinging on rainy days, I would change them into old clothes and wellies and let them play in the flooded field by our house til they were soaked through and filthy
- I went to collect DS3 from school once and came home without him cos I was too busy talking to notice he wasn't following (only a 10 minute walk thank goodness)
- I let my older ones put DS3 in a dolly's pushchair when he was a few months old and run round the field with him, only they turned a corner sharply and he flew out (he was fine)
- I left him unsupervised long enough to drink 'Flash' (not once but twice!)
- I lost a naked DS1 on a packed beach when he was 2 and couldn't find him for 20 minutes.
- I put DS2's hair into dreadlocks and had a daily running battle with school over extreme hairstyles - at that point it wasn't a written policy, so they made it one after that.
Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0 -

Hello, my name is SDG and I'm a bad Mom to my 11 and 14 year old boys.
~I hated being pregnant and begged the midwives to induce me when I was 6 months pregnant with eldest monster. They laughed at me and refused. In my defence I did have morning sickness from hell all the way through both pregnancies.
~I bottled fed both monsters as neither one could breastfeed and I didn't have time or the inclination to express.
~Both of them had dummies and it nearly came to blows in the Disney Store when I went in search of another dummy as eldest monster would only take that one type. They had recalled them and I refused to hand the one I had over.
~They ate whatever they wanted, mostly stuff from jars.
~I caught eldest monster pulling gum out of a drain and eating it.
~"Because I said so" is one of my favourite sayings.
~I laugh at them on a regular basis when they claim they are deprived as they don't have iphones and all the gadgets their friends have. I also make them watch oxfam appeals when they do this.
~I refuse to let them play video games that are rated for adults, unlike their friend's parents. This apparently makes me really mean.0 -

Ha i do that one too although mine are only 12 and 8 their dad on the other hand lets them play anything when they are at his . I do make up for being good in that area with letting the 12 year old watch horror movies she has since she was 3 years old and quite often sits there laughing at them now instead of being scared and when i jump with fright i get "MOM you big baby its not real":jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
I'm so glad I am not alone xmaslolly76. We spent over an hour arguing with eldest monster yet again last night over the settings on the PS3. I've told him that if he can come up with a valid reason, i.e China setting the game as 18+ online as a way of repressing their citizens, then I will turn off the controls and limits. Somehow I can't see it happening. *makes a note to buy more ear plugs*0

Oooh love this thread :T
With my DD, it was all organic HM food, trying to do everything correctly. Too tired when it came to DS. :rotfl:
My daughter once decorated my bedroom rug with poo. I'd left her dressed in her PJs, all fluffy, and nice and clean, on my bed drinking her milk, while I nipped downstairs. I had the shock of my life when I came back, as I'd only left her for a few minutes. She'd coloured in the circles on my bedroom rug perfectly. :eek:0 -
Just wanted to say thank you to all that have posted, some posts made me giggle! I'm expecting my first baby and have been anxious about all the do's and don't's that you get told. You've reminded me that the world isn't going to end if I don't follow all the guidelines. Thank you again xCurrent debt:
