The Bad Mummies Thread

I cant resist joining in with this even though my boys are now 34 &32, but here goes I WAS a Bad Mummy cos I...
Told them that the Rabbit was run over because he got out of the garden and didn't use the green cross code so a car killed him, in fact it was the dog that did the dirty deed, DH threw a dried up biscuit into the garden thinking the dog would get to it first but the rabbit got there first so the dog tossed the rabbit in the air, ate the biscuit and came back in, the following morning DH & kids went to the local hardware shop to buy some wire fencing to make the said rabbit a pen as it was eating all my plants, whilst they were gone I opened the curtains and saw 1 dead rabbit in the garden, I had to ring the hardware shop and explain that there was a guy coming in with 2 little boys and that he was going to buy some wire fencing, I asked the gentleman to stop DH buying the wire fencing and just to tell my DH that the Rabbit was dead, DH came home very confused! it was only 2 years ago that my best friend spilt the beans on the Rabbits demise LOL.
I always told the boys that Pancake day was in the summer and that their friends had got the wrong date saying it was February 16th.
Bottle fed the first, tried BF on the 2nd but only lasted a week! I couldn't cope feeding every hour, 30 years on they are both big strapping lads.
Told the youngest that 1 day we would go skiing, he is still waiting LOL.
Sent them both a valentines card for years just in case they didn't get one!
Probably got lots more, I will have to ask them LOL

Ohhhhh I love this thread!!
I'm Nomoney mummy and I'm a bad mummy because:
I have a secret draw by the side of my bed with "snuggle treats!" in it and when I've been on a late late night working I will bribe the kids with one to get into bed, cuddle up and give me 10 more minutes sleep!
I only tried reusable nappys for 3 days and gave up forever!!
I breast fed out of lazyness, which ended with both kids bedsharing for way too long (dd2 is now 3 and still creeps into bed most nights.... and I let her!!!!)
My DD2 swore in nursery, and when I was told off by the teacher about it I laughed!!! (she used it in context and everything!!)
I sometimes put crisps in DD's lunchbox!
I too ate rare steak and drank wine when pregnant (honest it was due to lacking iron!!)
I sometimes oversleep in the mornings and they eat just a banana for breakfast while I run about like a crazy person....
Sometimes I oversleep in the morning and phone a friend to pick up the kids!! (I work till past 3am some night!)
I am really really GLAD when the MIL or my Mum pick them up for a overnight, and sometimes, quite grumpy when they come back!!!
I could go on, but will leave it as that for now!!! Love the thread btw xxx
Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone0 -
DD is still in her little baby bath
It means we don't use that much water. She doesn't seem to mind though.
Loves having baths at nannys though as nanny gives her a bath in the big bath
My DD is 2 at the end of March. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

DD had a little parade around our area last wednesday, i invited MIL to come watch too, so we were wandering around with my DS who is 3 in april when we saw a really tall police man, (must have been at least 6ft5)
ds was trying to get his attention but mr police man didn't hear, so ds tapped him on the hand,
police man said, ''oh sorry im so high up i didn't hear you, it's cold up here, is it cold down there?''
ds replied ''yes, i'm bloody freezing'' MIL and I couldn't help but laugh, thank god he didnt use the F word lolCan you see the mountains through the fog?0 -

Sadly little DD did use the f word, worst is MIL's cousin is the nursery teacher....
Day went like this... Mummy rushed, new kitten decided to have the runs all over the wall (to be fair he aimed for the litter box and missed!!!)
Mummy overslept, school 8:30, woke up 8:15... running around I used the F word a few times :mad: (working till 5am bad!!;))
Later at nursery, kids go to the library, no more than 400yds away, one child refuses to walk and says legs hurt and my dd turns around and says " stop winging its only a f**ing walk!!":o i'm still shocked by the use btw!! Bad bad monkey!!:(
There are 3 nursery teachers, and the snootiest one spoke to me! DD1 was naughty in school for saying jesus christ when she spilt paint, very very catholic school)
MIL takes DD's of for big 2 mile hikes every sunday mummy hides away for a lie in!!!! so a walk for dd is nothing.....
Will say I'm a bad mummy as I dont do prams, and kids have walked everywhere as soon as they could put one foot infront of the other, I don't drive either!!!
Bad mummy!!!!

oh just though of really good one....
when dd was small, and I was separating from her father, he spent most of time sleeping at work ( he worked at a hotel). My sister moved in with me for a while in between jobs abroad.
so......1st day at nursery dd announced 'daddy sleeps at work and mummy sleeps with emma'
very conservative C of E school, teacher took me to one side and said 'know its none of my business but.....' ths was 14 yeas ago and things werent so enlightened then!0 -
Ho ho ho - I am a bad mummy too, this thread is hilarious!
1./ BF initially, then couldn't keep up with DD appetite, so she was about half and half. I used to express milk and then make up to a full bottle with formula. You should have seen the HV expression when I said that I mixed breast milk and formula milk in the same bottle. Actually don't understand what is so bad about that?
2./ Stopped sterelising at about 4 months when I came downstairs to find (a very early crawler) chewing on her buggy wheels...
3./ Weaned at 18 weeks cos she was driving me up the wall! and first food was avocado cos that is all I had in the house when I finally cracked :-) she still likes it today.
4./ The only food I gave up during pregnancy was pate - and that's only because I don't eat it anyway... certainly didn't give up the red wine with sunday lunch
5./ I went back to work! Shock horror - part time instead of full time, but I still get people criticising me for it. And I am lucky enough that it wasn't to pay the bills, we would have managed, but more that I worked very hard to get qualified, love my job and would have been an even badder full time mummy.
6./ DD went into her own room at 10 days old. I am a very light sleeper and was almost psychotic with sleep deprivation by this time. 6 months would have killed me. And next one, due in 6 days, will be doing the exact same thing
7./ I didn't have a baby monitor - if she wanted me, she learnt damn quick she needed to cry loudly!
8./ I gave her jar food, and always cold. That way, when I was out I never had to worry about heating it up as she was used to having it cold....
9./ calpol, medised, ibuprofen, bonjela - the lot.
10./ My hospital bag currently packed and waiting upstairs has baby wipes in it. DD did her meconium nappy in the middle of the night and I was in tears trying to deal with it with cotton wool and water. That was the last she saw of cotton wool :-)
11./ Upon being asked quite seriously how much evidence based research I had read before deciding which formula milk to choose, I had to confess that I had just picked one off the shelf without really thinking about it...
12./ DD had a dummy, we only got it off her when she tripped on day and bit through her tongue. She didn't want it for a few days as the cut was just where the dummy rested. We then refused to give it back. There was a lot of blood, but very succesful for getting rid of dummy :-)
13./ DD cut her foot one day, quite badly and I thought she was just winging at me and crying for effect. Wasn't until I saw the little bloody footprints disappearing down the hall that I realised she had actually hurt herself...
the list goes on. DD is 26 months, and the next one is nearly cooked!
The people who mind don't matter, and the people who matter don't mind
Getting married 19th August 2011 to a lovely, lovely man :-)0 -
