Problems with Abbey (Santander) debit cards this weekend?

    FUNNY thing though I CAN use my card online???

    Realised there was an issue this morning at 11.00 when my debit card was refused by 4 cash points and the online banking log-on failed. Santander's systems also crashed about a month ago and I was advised to call back in a few hours to complete a transaction. Becoming a regular occurrence ...

    My husband also had £2500 taken from his Santander current account In dec. 09 (looked liked legitimate payments such as council tax, utility payments) the only thing was they weren't his! Santander refunded the money but could offer no explanation .... faulty computer systems???

    I think their IT infrastructure is decidedly creaky and the merger under the one brand has simply pushed them over the edge.

    Apparently Santander is thinking of floating the separate brands on the FTSE ... think they'd better sort out their IT first as it's third rate.

    Defintely time to find a new bank.

    Abbey online banking is up and running again now

    Santander had over 4 years to sort out Abbey and it's clearly still a mess let alone trying to sort out A-L and B&B.
