Recommendations for next car

None of your business, it isn't an overpriced Ford Fiesta.
If I was going to waste my money on a new car, which I am not, I would be looking at;
Kia C'eed, Hyundai i20 + i30, Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and a few other good value cars.
Didnt think you would say what car you drive
Thanks for adding something of value to a thread for once....... :T
I will agree on the Honda Civic.0 -
Golfs are overpriced for what they are. You get much more for your money with a Skoda Octavia (based on the Golf platform, sharing the engines and many of the same parts) and they're one of the best looking Skoda cars available at the moment IMO (the new Fabia, Roomster, and Yeti are all a bit iffy looking). I can't remember how long it is since the Octavia facelift model came out, but I wonder if there's any pre-registered of the pre-facelift dealers are wanting to get rid of.
That said Golfs do hold their value better. So if you want to sell up in a couple of years that might be the one to go for.
I was always under the impression that skodas used the previous generation of chasis to the current VW cars. IIRC the Octavia is based on the MK5 Golf rather than the MK6 so it cant really be compared directly. I'd have the VW over the Skoda any day.0 -
I couldn't care less if you agree or not to be honest, all of the cars in that list are far better value than the one that you keep spouting on about.
How long is the warranty on that 12k Fiesta ?
:rotfl:
Same as most of the other major manufacturers, 3 years. :rotfl:
I would rather not buy one of these cheap cars that are made in Korea, with the exception of Skoda.0 -
As above, what about the new Polo? The new model is really nice, quite big and not different looking to the Golf. I'm seriously considering getting one myself.
I'm also having the dilemma of buying new or up to a year old. The way I see it is that if you are planning on keeping the car for a long time and not the sort of person who has to change their car every 2 or 3 years, then why not just buy new. The depreciation doesn't really matter too much if you intend on keeping it for 5+ years. Plus you get the peace of mind of knowing it's not being sold off for something that's wrong with it, or been driven by various nutters as a lease car. You get the full 3 year warranty also. I personally don't know too much about cars so the peace of mind for me and higher price outweighs the risk of buying something that may need work doing on it in the near future.0 -
I went for a test drive in the new Fiesta, I just couldn't get past how ridiculously ugly that dashboard is. It's a mix between a child's toy and a Nokia phone.0

Kia have 6 plants, mainly in Korea with the exception of 2. One is in the USA and another in Slovakia.
Hyundai are the same motor group. They have plants in India, Japan and China as well as Slovakia.
Either way, its a Korean company = Cheap products.0 -

I'm sure people used to say the exact same thing about Japanese products!0 -
