I have had a reply to my hardship application to Barclays using letter 1 in the templates. They have replied offering me all charges refunded from 2010. They are putting it into my account in the next few days.
What letter do I send now asking for the full ammount? They have stated that my case is now closed and to go to FOS if I am unhappy. Do I just go straight ot FOS now?
Thanks0 -
LLoyds TSB
went over my overdraft by £100 and have been charged £55 for the privilege and have written several times but they are insisting the charges are fair. Although I am a pensioner I don't qualify under hardship as I have a savings account with them with a couple of thousand in it, Looks like I'll have to swallow it.
You might want to send a letter, restating your postions and setting a case that they disprortionate. If you aslo fill out FOS Foems and attach a copy to the letter for the banks for convience.
The banks apparently get charged a £500 levy for every case reffered to FOS regardless of the out come. So if you show you mean business and by completing and sending the form to your bank. Your bank might make a commercial descison to refund the charge rather than it being reffered to the ombusman and automaticailly incurring them a £500 levy.0 -

When did your financial hardship begin? What caused it? What did you argue to them?
if you read my signature, page 20 onwards which is on financial hardship.0 -
It started in October 09 as I had to take a lower paid job (50% lower). I said it had caused me to miss Mortgage, Council Tax and Secured Loan Payments.
I will give it a read now.

I have an old account with Lloyds TSB, haven't used it for at least 18 months, but thought I would try the hardship route now that I have been unemployed for 12 months. I sent the initial letter asking for details of charges which I received within a few days, they did not ask for the £10 fee. Today I have received a letter from them advising that '...asked to make a number of payments on 4th March 2010....there was not enough money in the account to cover all of them....'. I am now apparently £8.56 overdrawn as they have taken the £10 fee straight out of my account with no warning, they are now charging me £15 monthly fee plus daily fee of £6. Surely as they have not told me that they were going to take the £10 means that they cannot make this charge??Debt Free! So I bought a caravan... :rotfl:0

Oh dear, I would call them straight away and try to get this matter resolved before it gets out of hand0 -
