Personally I dislike names that have been "updated" with a Z or X in front of them but that's a very personal choice. DD has an X in her name (Alexandra) but both her names have very personal meaning to us. Alexandra because it's her dads middle name, and Rose in honour of my nan who passed whilst I was pregnant with the squiglet. I didn't like either of my nan's names so picked her favourite flower instead... Luckily it works very well with Alexandra

We'd picked the name about a month before she arrived. 5 days late and on my nans birthday - obviously was meant to be
Instead of picking a name for how it sounds pick it because it has a meaning to you. Every time I explain Alex's name I smile at the thought my nan is keeping an eye over her great granddaughter like she did the rest of us

I much prefer Nico rather than Nicos, and I think it's less likely to get shortened as it's not as long to start with.
Zayden I don't like at all, sounds like a name made up just to be different.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I love the idea of having a name that means something, which is why I called my first son Yannis becasue my father is greek and I loved the name then Christos because it is my fathers name. Then for my second son due to be born I wanted another Greek name if possible to carry on that tradition but all the other Greek grandads, uncles and that have all been used by my family, so I thought best to try to choose a greek name but one I liked don't particulary like Stavros, Paul, Peter which were the other options, or my mums dads name is Stanley, I really don't think Yannis and Stanley go together at all !!!
So even after choosing this first name which will proberly be Nikos now I've now got to come up with a middle name, I would have loved to use my mums dads name but Nikos Stanley just doesn't sound right !!! :rotfl:0 -

I do like stanley as well, it just doesn't go !! I suppose if I shortened Yannis to Yan, I could have Yan and Stan !!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Just as well. I only had boy's names, but no scans, I had no idea really what I was having, I just hoped for boys! Mine would have been named after the first thing I'd seen probably, if they'd been girls, like Native Americans. Actually, "bigbabyfoot" and "bluecurtain" dont have that good a ring to them so it's just as well they were boys!:rotfl::rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

I always use my full name, all 9 letters, although it can be shortened to lots of different things. My parents always called me by proper name and I just ignored anyone who shortened it!
That sounds exactly like me! In fact I wonder if we share the same name...:D

PS. I agree with the others-not keen on Zayden at all. I like Mathias or Maximos but you'd still have the problem with shortening I guess. Oh I've just remembered I love Theron too!New Year, New Me!!!Weight loss mission 2012 has officially begun!!:jLoss so far: 3 stone 4lbs:j0
