Do you know how to put screen shots on here ? If not no problems but I will try again when I get back .Sorry about this0 -
OK I slept on this after trying out the following on my kit .
Go back to local folders and right click settings change the local directory back to
C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\4u6d6yd5.default\Mail\Local Folders
Restart Tb and you shoud have the O2 account and an empty local folders (well ok maybe a Junk in there)
Now We will create a new Dummy Account to USe the Pendrive
FIle/New/Mail Account
Your Name = Outlook Old
Email Address = dummy@localhost
(you will get a Double check email address message ignore that )
Password = leave blank
Press Continue
The box will expand and and Thunderbird will check your mail settings
when it comes up "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account (about a minute)"
You will have (if not change them as below)
Username dummy
Incoming localhost POP 110 None
Outgoing localhost SMTP 25 None
Now press Manual Setup
This will give us Account Settings Server Settings box
Uncheck - Check new mail at startup
Uncheck - Check for new messages every
Uncheck - Automatically download new messages
Select browse on the Local Directory
browse to F:\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile\Mail\Local Folder
Select Ok
Restart TB
You should now have
The O2 Account and dummy@localhost and local folders
Can you now post back what you have for the dummy@localhost account please
What we want to do next, if this is how I hope it looks, we will copy all the stuff from the old
system to your new Local Folders so they stay on your new lappy and then we can remove the dummy (dont call me that) account and that should be the end.

Morning, nope Afternoon , Good we are hopefully nearly there now then
Lets check that the settings for Local Folders/Location is C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\4u6d6yd5.default\Mail\Lo cal Folders just in case
If it is
1st Create a new folder in Local Folders called Outlook Stuff (you choose name)
Under that create Subfolders for each of the folders you have in dummy
next click on every folder in dummy / then CTRL-A / highlights all the messages in that folder whilst highlighted select Message (on toolbar) /Copy To>/Local Folders >/"what you called Outlook Stuff">/The relevant folder
This should copy all the messages from the Pen drive to your local folders/stuff4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -
