Here at the clinic and they've already put me in a separate waiting room from everyone. I'm alone in here. This is making me even more worried about things...

I was put in a seperate room for my appointment as the clinic is usually with pregnant people/people with babies - easier to be alone in a room than in a room with loads of babies/pregnant people.

I am thinking of you hun and hope your appointment goes well.

Me and my OH are going away to Cyprus on Friday till the following Sunday. My very kind MIL is letting us use her villa - we need a break after these last few months.

Bitter sweet however as i am sure I fell pregnant last time we were there - still, we have a car hired and will be out a lot of the time and just looking forward to a break with him :)

Much better than I was expecting, although I'll be on low dose aspirin for the rest of my life. Turns out there was a clot between my uterus and placenta, which caused the placenta to begin to separate from me. Baby was perfect. The shock came when the consultant said that Dale was a GIRL!!!

We've been given the green light for trying again and I can have as many appointments and scans as I'd like when I get pregnant again. This has taken such a load off my mind and is such a relief. I am so very glad that they were able to find what happened and all that I need to prevent it from happening again is a low dose aspirin (which I've been taking for the past 4 weeks anyway).

Wow thats some unexpected news mrs TM on both counts.

Sorry am I being totally thick but how could they have ever got the sex wrong in the first place?

So is it a blood clotting disorder that causes miscarriages and essentially the aspirin will therefore prevent that?

Anyway Im so pleased that you have a reason why even though it doesnt bring Dale back, at least you know what you need to do now.

I was very shocked, and I think DH fell out of his chair at work when I texted him about Dale being a girl!

They didn't tell us either way, I was the one that looked and got it wrong! :o

That's the only clot I've ever had that's been in the wrong place, so we don't know if it's a disorder or was a one time thing. Regardless, consultant wants me on the aspirin from now on. It won't hurt, so long as I don't take anything else with aspirin in it and take it when I eat. I have the dispersible ones, so I can just chuck one into my water bottle and go.

I think I'm going to start planning again. Maybe even buy a few things as I can earn gift cards to afford them.

Oh right I see! Oh well. Now that I think about it I did once watch an episode of OBEM where the mum was passed the baby, and said 'its a boy!' and then about 3 minutes later she realised that actually no it was the cord and it was a girl!

Yes thats good, at least either way youre preventing it from happening again, whether its just something that occured in pregnancy or something that could generally affect you healthwise.

Oh Mrs T, I'm so relieved for you that they were able to give you a cause, and that it's treatable. I'm on low dose aspirin daily, apart from always being irritated that for the NHS 'dissolvable' means 'wait 15 mins to turn to crumbs', I don't notice it.
I wish you all the luck in the world for when you are ready to try again. I know it won't change the past but it will the future; I won't forget you or baby Dale xxx

But that must have been such a shock to find out your baby was a different sex to what you were told/thought. I have heard of occasions when it's not clear visually (esp right after birth) or when visuals differ from the genes, it's more common than most people realise (or ever need to know).

    Best wishes, *hugs*

I very clearly need an anatomy class. Never had to have one for either of my degrees surprisingly. The consultant said that I should train to work in the autopsy room since it doesn't bother me. I might, but it depends on when we get pregnant again.

Oh Mrs_TM, that is good to have got some answers and great that the treatment is quite straightforward. It must not have been easy talking about the loss of baby Dale though, still thinking about you and your family.

I'm so glad you can start trying again when you're ready, and that scans and tests will be forthcoming too. Hugest hugs xxx
