Assuming you haven't been given a specific phone number, if you know the name of your consultant I would phone the switchboard and ask to be put through to your consultant's secretary. It's definitely worth phoning to chase it up if you haven't heard anything - I kept putting off chasing mine because I hate phone calls and it ended up being thirteen weeks in the end (and that was with chasing it up) and I felt much better once I'd had it.

I don't even know their name! My GP said that he would try and find out for me, and he is usually really good about that sort of stuff. Guess I'll be calling everyone trying to figure out what to do next week. I'm not going to bother with it over the weekend.

Just finished making this denim and flower wreath for our front window. It's made with a pool noodle from Poundland and an old pair of ripped up jeans, believe it or not!

  • Mrs_T_M, did you get a bereavement midwife? Ours was fantastic, she did all the chasing as our appointment took ages (lost the baby in June and saw the consultant in October I think) x

No. We haven't had contact from anyone about any of it.

  • We were given a card offering the bereavement 'services' of two midwives, I didn't call but one of them first rang me about 6 weeks after, when I mentioned we hadn't heard anything about a follow up she stepped in and did the chasing.

I'm so sorry for your loss, we lost our baby at 21 weeks and 4 days. It does get *easier*.

Appointment letter finally came through the post box today! Appointment is for 17 March, 2 pm. Hopefully they will be able to tell me at least something about what happened, the chances of it happening again, and that it will either never happen again or is treatable.

Hey that is great news you have the appointment. That is not that long and hopefully they can give you some answers. Is OH able to make the appointment with you - or if not, someone else so your not alone?

I love the wreath - your very crafty bit like me. I love making things but I am studying at the moment and don't seem to have any time.

OH doesn't want to go, and I don't have anyone else here that can go. One of the worst bits of moving countries for love. I do love it here though, I just haven't met many people yet.

About to go catch the bus to go to my follow up appointment. Fingers tightly crossed that something was found that can be fixed or that won't happen again. Fingers also tightly crossed that they don't blame it on my weight, I know much heavier people to have healthy pregnancies, so that point will be moot!

I hope the appointment goes as well as it can do Mrs_TM, I'm sure you're feeling lots of emotions at the moment. Fingers crossed there will be some insights and treatment options for next time around. I hope that will be really soon xxx
