I'm on low dose aspirin daily, apart from always being irritated that for the NHS 'dissolvable' means 'wait 15 mins to turn to crumbs',

I have the ones from Sainsbury's. 75mg. Mine are the 'throw them into your water bottle and by the time you remember to drink it, there aren't even crumbs left of it!'

Perfectly expressed by mrshappy - people here are often in my thoughts.
I'm glad to see this thread moving along NOT because someone else has suffered a m/c but because Mrs T M has had the most positive outcome she could have wished for from that appointment. By the way Mrs T M you were incredibly brave to go on your own - well done, I'm very impressed. Don't think I could have done it. Hopefully this is the beginning of better times for you both.

Love, best wishes and hugs to everyone xxx

I was crying on the way in. There was a 1 week old little girl on the first bus I was on. So teeny tiny! I think I'm more in shock that we had a little girl than I am relieved that we can fix it, but I am definitely relieved that it's something that a simple little aspirin can fix.

What a shock for you Mrs_T_M that Dale was a girl but I'm pleased that you got answers and I hope aspirin can help you in your next pregnancy.

Well, I had my 2nd hospital appointment this morning with a Dr in the antenatal clinic of my local hospital. Apparently it's "good news" in that my blood tests showed nothing was wrong. This should have been happy news, but I burst into tears!!! When the Dr asked what was wrong, I said I guess I wanted a answer. Something that could be fixed! She started quite friendly but she was also quite firm and in some ways patronising! :( I asked some questions and she said "have you read the leaflets I gave you" ("Recurrent Miscarriage" from Miscarriage Association) which I had, but then later she asked, "have you been Googling?" I said "No! I read about it (a test for Natural killer cells) in Zita West's book!" she basically said don't read "your brain is full of enough information already, you are just worrying yourself!" I asked about my OH's semen as the result showed it was at the low end of normal, and she said "it's either good quality or it's not. There's nothing you can do about it!" This isn't true is it as I thought semen is produced every 3 months so it can take time but he can improve it?!Although she said the same about my eggs and I guess there is nothing I can do about quality of my eggs? I said about being "unlucky" and she said "I wouldn't call it unlucky" er really???!!! What would you call it then?? Apparently there is a 70% chance that I will have a healthy pregnancy next time so she said I should get on and keep trying. That was quite reassuring I guess although I am worried about the risk of miscarriage/something going wrong again. She is also writing to my GP to request counselling for me so I hope to hear from them soon and hopefully I will find that helpful!
I cried all the way home and came straight on here before heading back to work. Don't want to go but I have to get back to "normality" after having a few days off with headache/sickness.

Hope you are all well, take care xx

The only book that I've actually enjoyed reading about the loss was "Avoiding Miscarriage: Everything you need to know to feel more confident in pregnancy" The part about taking low dose aspirin really resonated with me, so I asked my GP if it would hurt to go ahead and start taking it (this was about 4-6 weeks ago) and he said to go for it, that as long as I didn't take anything else with aspirin in it I should be fine.

I really do recommend that book, even for those who have never experienced a miscarriage. It's well written, albeit written for a US audience, so the healthcare costs are a bit different. I borrowed it from my local library, so no need to go spend money on it.

Just adding this: If you're thinking that low dose aspirin may help you, talk to your GP first! More than likely it won't hurt and could do some good, but always keep your GP informed and discuss medications with them BEFORE you start them!

I've read this thread over the years and I'm sorry for everyone's losses. Reading others experiences has always helped me cope somehow.

I had a missed miscarriage in November 2011 and then a further miscarriage in March 2012.

My research after that took me towards the aspirin route and I spoke to my GP about it. His opinion was that if it helps, great but if it doesn't no harm done - I fell pregnant again August 2012 and now have an extremely active 10 month old ! During that pregnancy, my midwife also requested I stay on the aspirin for the entire pregnancy (as well as high dose folic acid) due to my increased BMI. If I hadn't already been taking the aspirin when I saw her for my booking in appointment, she would have recommended I started taking it immediately. As Mrs_T_M says, speak to your GP before you start taking anything.
