I've been told not to take low-dose aspirin while TTC but to take it as soon as I get a BFP. Has anyone else been told this?

I didn't think it would do any harm but I've also read posts from people who think that taking low dose-asprin prevents conceiving and as soon as they stop taking it they conceive again. Any truth in this?

I was told by the consultant to start it now and keep taking it until I hit menopause if not even later. Each person is different though, and you can always ask your gp. Hope that helps! :)

I started taking the low dose aspirin around 2 months before we conceived from memory - my GP advised he didn't believe it would do any harm and the majority of things I read pointed in the direction of it possibly helping. Whether it worked or was just coincidence, we will never know but when we are ready to try again, I will definitely start taking it again xxx

Still not sure about taking the low-does asprin but I will check with my GP - thanks.

Today is a bad day. Its now been 10 weeks since I miscarriage. I should be in my 30th week. I had an email from an old school friend happily announcing her pregnancy (on 3rd IVF attempt). I never told her about my two pregnancies - or losses - as she was always so resentful every time a mutual friend announced similar news.

I just feel jealous and upset. its so unfair.

Hello everyone , Just thought i would share my story.

Part of me feels bad , i had a very early miscarriage about 2 years ago. I would have been no more than 5 weeks. I feel guilty getting upset when i know it must be even worse to have multiple miscarriages or later ones.
What hurts for me is i know my body & my cycles so know when soothing is wrong , it was that miscarriage that stopped my period for 6 months & was the reason i was diagnosed with pcos. But if it hadn't happened i should have a child over a year old right now , instead i have had 2 years of hell.

My miscarriage was never confirmed due to a rubbish GP , she heard the bit where i hadn't had a period for a few months but my description of what happened went over her head. But until then other than 1 or 2 missing periods it was clockwork. I know what happened was a miscarriage , i checked back & we tried exactly around when i would have ovulated.
The way it happened was quite traumatizing. I was going to Alton towers with my fiancee. I had been looking forward to it for ages but i had a few pains on the train. Just normal period pains really and then in stoke-on -trents toilet (which is upsetting in itself) i saw clotting which i had never had before and blood. I thought it was a late period but i did think about it being a miscarriage. I tried to put it to the back of my mind all day but it was tough. I had some more blood about twice early in the day at Alton towers but then it stopped. Next day i had a bit more blood in the morning once but then that was it. I had never experienced clotting or bleeding for such little time before.

I feel robbed of not having confirmation it was a miscarriage but i think in my heart i know it was. I know i was lucky to have an earlier one , it was would have been so worse if i had lost a baby further on but it still hurts. We go to Alton Towers every year now , i went last year & we are going in the next 2 months. It is then i really think about it , especially at the train station. Unless i was desperate for the toilet i don't think i could go back in there. It was nearly 2 years ago now but from time to time i think about what could have been.

I haven't had another miscarriage if anything i am struggling to get pregnant again but do fear it happening again.

Thanks ttc39. My first baby was due at the beginning of March (miscarried at 12 weeks and my I should be 31 weeks pregnant now with my daughter who we called Jemima (miscarried at 20 weeks). Dates and milestones will always be difficult.

If you're the same 'ttc39' who announced a BFP on the TTC thread, I wish you a happy and uneventful 9 months!

    Hi , yes I am the same ttc39 :-)

EDD today for mc last year. Have had day off work and been at a local spa with a mate as didn't fancy working .

Currently 7 weeks - if everything is ok still.

Think after a mc you can never enjoy a pregnancy again :-(

Just need a vent ladies. MMC discovered on Dec 21st, ERPC 31st Dec. All was OK, getting back to normal then 4 pregnancy announcements in the last few weeks, 2 new babys and boss's wife has just had a boy in March. He invited the whole team over for lunch to see his new house and baby today. I had to go baby shopping for some gifts on behalf of my guys yesterday. Bought some clothes and toys. Thought I would be fine but it was absolutely gutting. Cant get out of today either as I am driving them over there. You know when you just want to crawl under a rock and hide. So not in the mood to coo over someones baby right now.
