Mrs TM training to be a midwife could be a brilliant goal. You have a medical background as well don't you?

Cyclamen you should let yourself do whatever feels right.

Devil dolly I don't know how you managed to get through Christmas not telling anyone. I hope you get support from your sister x

Well, not medical background, but I have a BSc in both Biology and one in Chemistry. I'll be speaking to admissions at UEA to see if any classes can be skipped due to my degrees, how I may go about to get funding (after my indefinite leave to remain is granted), and what all the course of study entails. I hate hate hate needles, and I know that they are a part of learning, and if the courses are anything like the nurse courses in the States, you practice on yourself!

If I do go that route and do become a midwife, I'd like to specialise in home births. Even though I think my next one will be a hospital birth, I want to give more women the option of a home birth, since that's what I originally wanted.

I've already used the nesting instinct to get the washing up done, wiped down all of the cabinets, oven door, and the top of the stove, as well as putting the clean and dry laundry away (what I could, we've run out of hangers!), washed two loads of laundry and a backpack (second one is in the washer at the moment), swept the kitchen, took a shower, scrubbed the shower/tub, washed and scrubbed the toilet, and have picked up some cardboard that the bunnies have ripped to shreds to go out into the recycling. I hope that I can do more tomorrow, because it's really making me feel better knowing that I can at least do something.

I could be totally wrong but I think midwife courses are funded by the nhs so it would be free. Don't take my word for it though :)

Glad you are feeling productive. Don't wear yourself out though make sure you put your feet up too x

If that is the case, I'll definitely have to wait until my ILR is granted. I'm not allowed any funding from the state/government for anything or any benefits until I get ILR (which I'm perfectly fine with and support).

Looks like my hormone swing has made the more dominant bunny be very aggressive with the docile one. We've had to separate them for the moment to keep Sarah from humping Annabelle and to keep Annabelle from biting Sarah in retaliation. Ugh.

    Mrs TM -
Claire is right, midwifery training is funded by the NHS (I am currently applying for nurse training but have friends who are applying for midwifery). Please do think about training, you have so many characteristics which would make you a brilliant midwife. I'm glad you are keeping busy but be careful not to overdo it. Post here as much as you like, we are quite a chatty bunch and you won't be alone for long here. Hope the bunnies settle down a bit...xx

We are getting ready to go to the hospital to pick up Dales hand prints and foot prints in a bit. I want to get the chaplain and the nurses/doctors/midwives a very nice thank you card as well before we go. This is definitely NOT what I wanted for my 29th birthday (today).

And Cyclamen, splurge as often as you want. *huge hugs*

    Hugs Mrs T M

crying at silly things today.. my husband wrapped his arms round me and one hand rested on my belly.. it just made me think baby should be there

We sent two big boxes of chocolates to the ward after IT all happened via amazon.. it was the gynae ward and i was a 'boomerang patient' the week preceding .. in one night home the next and repeat so new the nurses by then.

It is such a tough job they do .. and i was well looked after .. so i think its nice to recognise them.. but not sure i am brave enough to ever set foot on that ward again.

Hate to see this thread coming up and being so active.

Mrs_T_M - you are never far from my thoughts. I hope the hand and foot print collection goes ok as to be expected.

I have been quite 'uneasy' the last few days. I was due with the baby I lost (found out at 12 week scan, died at 9+5) back in July. I would have been due anytime from now and I know that as my partners bosses partner is due a day or two later than I would have been.

Sounds pathetic - but I still feel angry inside sometimes. It truley is the worst thing to ever have to go through, that I would not wish on my worst enemy - but to have it after 12 weeks is just cruel.

I do hope everyone else is coping ok. I don't think any loss leaves you whether its right at the beginning or later on.

    :o Hugs to all. xx
