  • Thank you so much for the support and info LJ, Claire and Sweaty Betty, it really helps. It still doesn't feel real yet. Trying to just get through Christmas now. I think the surgery route sounds like the best option for how far along I am. I don't think if given the option I can go through all the pain, not over Christmas and new year.

I will have a look back and read the posts on what to expect as it sounds daunting at the moment. Thanks again all, will update when I know some more.

Missed miscarriages are indeed cruel, as there is no sign anything is wrong. So sorry there are so many of us that are or have been in this position. Thinking of you all.

    Hi LJ -

Just to say I think you are very brave for posting here in support of others when you are in the midst of it all. Take care of yourself, hope things get a bit easier and less painful over the next few days.

Devildolly - so sorry to hear of your loss. What an awful thing to happen. I hope you have lots of support, whatever you decide to do.

    love to all

    MsB x

No worries hun. Was just checking in whilst in bed on the iPad and if my experience can be of any assistance to anyone else, it will make things easier for me. Still having daily pain :( just had enough now and want the pain to stop so I can enjoy Xmas.

For anyone who went the natural/tablets route after a Mmc, can you advise how long the pain lasted after your miscarriage? I am now day 10 - mostly ok but at least twice a day I get awful pain like period pains but worse...... :(

For what tiny risk surgery involves, in my opinion knowing what I now know and going from personal experience, I'd go that route if it happened again (especially as the miscarriage isn't so early as some) I will PM you something else to read that might help you hun xx
  • I had a natural MC. Started dark blood, got progressively worse, pain started on day 8, like a period. Got worse for six days, the last three were like early stages of labour. The last day I could still walk but I had to take it slow (that's the only day I took paracetamol). The last four hours were agony. I was just thinking I can't possibly cope with this any longer when it happened. The pain stopped almost immediately afterwards.
I'm sure, just like pregnancy and birth (and life), it's different for everyone.

I stopped bleeding four das later. I had my follow up on Friday (9 days after) and my womb has completely collapsed again.

I'm really sorry for your loss DD. It must be a really difficult decision to make.
    Other opinions are available.
  • I'm sorry for your loss devildolly, I hope you get somewhere with the doctors today.

LJ with my first natural miscarriage it went on for about 7/8 weeks. It wasn't painful all the time but I had random bouts of heavy blood loss and lots of pain. I was being scanned at the hospital every 10days or so and still hadn't passed everything tissue related, so in the end I had the ERPC. Are you getting any kind of follow up? I have to say though they weren't overly concerned as what I was describing was normal, they just worry about the risk of infection if you get to 10 weeks and haven't passed everything. With my recent miscarriage of twins I used medication and the bleeding lasted about a week, with no pain, after everything was passed on the second day.
If the pain is severe or you are worried then go to A&E Xx

To my beautiful angels, pip and squeak...

Tomorrow is the day we were expecting you here with us, although I always thought you'd have got sick of squishing each other in there and come to meet us early. I'm so sorry you left us so early, and so sorry we're not sharing our first Christmas together. Your Dad and I will always love you and always miss you, but I know that Nan is looking after you both and giving you plenty of cuddles.

Take care of each other until I see you again. Merry Christmas my angels, love Mum xx

I was only logging on to post to wish you well for tomorrow tea, and to say that I hope that 2014 starts well for you with your new cycle of treatment and ends up being a very different year for you.

Tealover - thinking of you and your angels today. I'll light a candle when it gets dark for you and all the other angel mummys out there. Hope you are managing ok and that 2014 is kinder to you xx

Hugs to all the other ladies who are finding today difficult.

I'm blessed to have my rainbow baby this year, but last year was very bleak at times. I hope you all see your rainbows soon. I read somewhere the other day that your rainbow may only be one more rainy day away. I hope that helps. :o The rainy days suck so much tho - wish none of us had to go through them xx

Thinking of all the angel babies including mine a missed miscarriage back in July. I am so greatful I am pregnant but will never forget the moment I found out at my 12 week scan my baby had died. I had no idea.

To all those waiting to fall pregnant with their forever baby - 2014 I hope will bring you happiness and joy.

This thread and all the contributors I thank so much. It was invaluable and reading back through kept me strong.
