May I join? I'm in the process of miscarrying currently (had the paramedic out to confirm it). I have a feeling that DH might take it harder than me, and I'm worried about him.

Oh no! I'm so so sorry. We're here if you need us.

I've been awake all night, so please forgive any misspellings. Also, some of this WILL be tmi.

It looks like the bleeding stopped within 10 minutes of it starting, and I passed two tiny clots. Fast forward to now. I've thrown up once, dry heaved LOTS, has diarrhoea most of the night, and the nausea is horrid. I haven't had any cramps.

Should I try to go to my gp's office tomorrow (he won't be there, but someone will, as its a 7 day per week clinic) and see if they can do, or refer me to have an emergency scan to see what's going on?

I dont think it could hurt to see a doctor, especially as you are feeling so unwell. I went to the out of hours docs when I started bleeding and felt unwell and they sent me to the hospital, Just to check what was going on. I am so sorry to hear you are going through this ((hugs))

Oh no mrs tm I'm so sorry.

I'd call the out of hours dr & see if you can be referred for a scan at that hospital - I'm not sure if this will have to wait until Monday or not.

Or go to a&e. But they won't be able to do much if there's no scanning available at weekends so prob best to call dr and see what they say. As similar thing happened to my friend and it was a total waste of time going to the hospital at the weekend as there was no sonographer at hers.

It's probably worth asking your dr to also prescribe some painkillers too.
  • Sorry to hear your news Mrs_T_M, how many weeks are you? I had a bleed with my first DS and all was fine, however I've also had 3 mc's so I know it can go either way. The only difinitive proof is through having a scan.

The times I've gone to A&E I've been scanned while I'm there. The time I saw the GP and she organised a scan for me I had to wait 3 days for the appointment. For that reason I'd recommend A&E.

ncsmummy, I've alwas found the build up to my due dates harder than the actual day although I appreciate that may not be the case with Christmas day. Have you thought about doing something to commemorate the day? I planted rhododendrons for my baby that was due in May, as that's when they flower every year. For my first loss I lit a candle and I'm yet to decide what to do for my twins that were due this Feb. I like the fact that I'm doing something 'for them'.

I am/was 6 weeks as of today. I broke down about 6:30 and called my mom and explained things. Poor thing too, not the kind of phone call you want from your daughter at 1:30 am (she still lives in the US). I described what happened and she said that the exact same thing happened to her when she was pregnant with me and she was 6 weeks old. Because an a&e visit in the States costs $1500 to walk through the door, she had to rest and keep her feet elevated until Monday when the doctor was in. Because I'm not bleeding now and have had zero cramps, I have hope, but not much. I'm about to call my gp's office and see what they recommend.

Big hugs Mrs TM. I very much hope things turn out ok for you. I would rest up as best you can and take care of yourself as best you can. I think realistically, they probably won't scan you until Monday so you may be in for an emotional and worrying wait :( Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's how my local hospital works etc. Try to keep drinking fluids for your sickness etc as well. Will be thinking of you xx

Ok, have spoken with the gp's office. They had to create an appointment for tomorrow at 6:30 pm for me to see the gp. I think that they are trying to let me go a few days, see me, but if I am still pregnant, they'll be looking for the heartbeat, which should start sometime this week. Without that, I doubt they will be able to tell much. I'm to rest, keep my feet up, lots of fluids, and if anything changes give them a call.
