  • Been to see the Consultant Gynaecologist today. No chromosomal abnormalities have been found during the testing of my twins. The placenta contained the right hormones from me too so basically it's just been put down to a 3rd bout of bad luck. They did take more bloods from me today though to rule out Antiphospholipid syndrome. I'll get the results of that by letter and only have follow up if it's positive. If I do get pregnant again though I will have lots of extra scans and support.

He didn't seem worried that I haven't got AF yet but said I can ask the GP for some medication that will force it and hopefully kick start my cycle again. I will have a think about that one but will probably wait a bit longer.

Can't remember if I said but I had bloods taken last Friday also. My iron levels are still far too low. The Dr was appalled that I'd only been given a weeks worth of tablets after I lost all that blood during the mc, she said I should have been given 3 months worth! I'm on them now for the next 3 months.

    Hope everyone is ok Xx

How do you feel after the appointment?

I do think also that is appalling. I am on iron at the moment as I had the ERPC and got pregnant straight away so my system had never caught back up with recovering. That said they didn't tell me I could not try.

I really hope AF turns up very soon xx

  • I don't know how I feel if I'm honest Sam. I'm pleased that there is nothing majorly wrong, but on the otherhand I wanted there to be something that could be fixed for next time. I don't really feel any further forward but there's nothing else they can do. Xx

I can see where you are coming from. If there is something wrong and they can give you something to help if you choose to try again then you know, but the unknown is so different to explain. I am glad they will offer you more scans.

I took from my mmc that something wasn't right whether they had looked or not something wasn't right and it was a decision taken from my hands. If a decision is taken away it doesn't minus the pain but it does give some positivity sometimes, our beans were too special for this life.

I do hope that you fall again and all is just wonderful. You will never forget your babies and what you have been through. I think about my mmc every single day and I hope in time I don't forget but I manage to not get so distressed. I am lucky I appricate that, being pregnant again, but I am not able to enjoy it at all as I am constantly wondering - is all ok in there?

You are a strong lady and with what you have been through your partner and family are very lucky to have someone so special.

    Hugs xx

That's so true...even for us old-timers! My DS2, conceived after I'd miscarried, is nearly 15 now and as tall as me, but I haven't forgotten what the whole experience of miscarrying did to me although it was a long time ago.

It is brilliant though to see how people here support and help each other, and Sam, it's fantastic to follow your progress. Thank you for sharing the happy bits with us too.

Love to all who need it

  • Hello all - PLMBL we had a similar outcome to yours. We were told there was no definitive reason, it was because they were twins (more pressure on cervix), or I'd suddenly developed a weak cervix or just one of those things. Frustrating as there's nothing to "fix". I had an early miscarriage before I became pregnant with the twins and am now dreading having another. But there's nothing any of us can do about that I guess...

Hope it's given you some kind of closure at least.
