Hi Caroline - I'm glad you've decided to come and join us over here. I know that when I went through my mc a few weeks back, I found this board of immense comfort and there are some absolute stars on here too (Stef being one) who will give up their time to help you whenever they can.

I had that horrible experience of after bleeding for ages, suddenly feeling that I needed to rush to the loo and pass something. It was awful, OH was away in Birmingham working that day, so I was on my own. I phoned my mum in hysterics and she told me calmly that I needed to retrieve as much of it as i could so I could show it to EPU the next day.

It was awful..I managed it eventually but couldn't look at it at all, so OH had to deal with it when he got home. From what he described, its the same as you've had.

With any luck, that will be more or less the end of it. Next time EPU scan you, you'll hopefully find that its over and nothing more needs to happen. I didnt want a D&C either, so I was relieved that my body passed everything naturally.

Please dont feel bad AT ALL about needing time off work. You may not feel physically ill, but the last thing you need right now is the added stress of work. I was signed off for a week, and actually think I went back too soon as a couple of times I couldnt cope and had to lock myself in the toilets to cry :(

A miscarriage is a big deal, so you stay at home with Cooper and rest up. Do whatever it is you want to do..chill, sleep, watch vids..whatever you need to do, and dont give work a second thought.

You seem to be a strong person, and your OH sounds wonderful. You guys will get through this, and I'm sure your OH will understand if you want to delay the wedding plans a bit.

We're always here for you too hon...XXX

I had a natural miscarriage on Monday night. I was 6+3, I'm absolutely devastated. I started spotting on friday night, but put it down to a bout a thrush I had. I never had any major cramps, or a huge loss of blood, just a little discomfort, and the spotting turned from brown to bloody. So it was a massive shock when I passed my baby complete, nothing quite prepares you for that, I freaked out, as I was home alone. I was told to look out for clots!! I was surprised at the size actually. My bleeding is coming to an end, and my body is returning to normal, in a few days physically it will be like my pregnancy never happen, but emotionally I don't think I'm ever going to be the same again.
