thanks fran-o, hugs coming your way too.
I have considered getting in touch with my health plan from work and seeing if they can arrange me some counselling, I haven't done so yet, but I think it can be really positive to have the chance to sort through all your feelings and thoughts about something with someone impartial. Glad you and hubby are able to talk things through too, it's something that we've struggled with over the months. I think for us, there's been a bit of a lack of intimacy due to my health.
I totally agree about the dark evenings making everything seem harder. And now my dog's lame, I'm missing my daily walks which isn't helping my mood!
On the plus side, my GP surgery rang and they 're trying to get my annual smears back on track, so I think I'm going to get that out the way and check I'm healthy before trying again, the GP mentioned my cervix looks abnormal, fingers crossed it's hormonal and nothing sinister.0 -
Hello ladies,
Well I've finally had my appointment at the hospital today about my cyst - my first one on 10th January had to be cancelled because my notes were not there!
Basically I have a dermoid cyst which measures 8cm x 7cm and it's on my left ovary and I have two choices either leave it but keep going to the hospital for check ups on it's size or have surgery to remove it and if they remove they will probably have to remove the ovary as well.
I know that I could still get pregnant with just the one ovary I'm just s**t scared about having any kind of surgery really!
The other thing is I was all ready for ttc again - as I've just had my first period since the miscarriage - but I think it would probably be a wise idea for us to wait until this cyst is removed but I don't know how long it's going to take.
When I left they told me to get my bloods done :-( and then to make an appointment for the next clinic but the clinic only runs fortnightly and there isn't one next fortnight and the one after that is fully booked so they have passed my appointment card to the consultants secretary so now it's just a waiting game :-(
I hope all you ladies are doing ok?

Hi anyname, sorry you're down, it's understandable, it will take time...I bled for about a month after the miscarriage and then the next two periods were so heavy and clotty...I'm ttc again, period is one day late so fingers crossed lol.
fran, speak to someone if you can, I went to see a gynae about fibroid and it was good to talk to her about the miscarriage as well. She was able to tell me about other patients of hers who have worst stories than mine and still able to conceive, I know we're all different but it gave me a bit of hope.
Clare, what would happen if you got pregnant and had the cyst, is there any danger to you or baby?0 -
Hi Jox,
I did ask the registrar and she said that it shouldn't be a problem and I have read a few stories where women have been pregnant and had an op to remove the cyst and everything went well but I think I would just worry way too much and I suppose this way it gives my body time to get back into a routine with my cycles - I hope!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you and that you get a good result this month xx
With regards to counseling I did get in touch with my works Occupational Health Dept and they put me in touch with a councilor and I had my first and last session on Monday.
The lady was lovely but for me I just didn't feel comfortable and I knew I didn't want to go again but everyone is different so it is worth a try.
I did also go to a local Miscarriage Association group meeting last week and I felt very positive when I left.
I think I preferred the group meeting because we all spoke and shared whereas with a counselor I just felt uncomfortable with the silences.

Thanks Clare, glad the group meeting was helpful, I might look them up too.0

Well I know it's easier said than done, but try not to lose all hope just yet.
Dating can be so off in the early stages, and no bleeding is a good sign.
Fingers crossed for Monday.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hope all is Ok GG.
I'm feeling particularly pathetic today as I went to see my GP for the first time in about 4 years, because I am under a lot of stress in another area of my life, and the first thing which flashed up on her screen and stayed up throughout the consultation were the words: "spontaneous abortion Sep 2011". I know this is the medical terminology for it, and I guess I knew the hospital would write to the GP and tell them what happened for my notes, but it added a whole new level of upset to an already very distressing day.0
