lots of love to you amus, are you going to do anything to mark the day/make it easier? me and DH went away for the weekend when it was mine, nearly a year ago now as my due date was 7 January x

I dont have anything planned, but may just leave that day free so I can mope round and feel sorry for myself, and then hopefully draw a line under it :o
  • Hugs amus. Having the day to yourself sounds like a very good idea.

    Hi Amus,

I found the build up and the anticipation to the day far worse than the day itself.

I was away for the weekend, but when we got home on the sunday (which was my due date) we wrote a letter to our baby, attached it to a sky lantern and set it off.

I had a lot of tears whilst writing the letter, and watching the sky lantern float away - but before then and after then I was fine. I had expected to be very mopey all day long, but it wasn't all I thought about all day long which I was relieved about.

Claire - sorry you had a bad new years :( I think it is a time to reflect on the previous year and sum it up. I do a calendar every year with photos, and I had thought prior to doing my calendar that the whole year had been rubbish cos all I could think about was what I had lost and how things should be so different. But when I looked back on the photos, and the nice memories and fab times we had shared I realised it wasn't such a terrible year. Yes, a terribly sad thing happened in the year, but there were also lovely moments in the year too. I think TTC takes us all over at times. All you can see is the frustrations and sadness, and sometimes you forget to see the nice things :o:o Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year

That is exactly what I am like - I get far more worked up about it beforehand than on the actual day.

Just been reading about a lady who had recurrent miscarriages, she was able to have 2 children when she started taking aspirin.

Here's more details about the sticky bloody syndrome, I have some of these symptoms, giddyness for example! I should get checked for this.

There are a number of 'sticky blood' causes. not just APS. If you have recurrent miscarriages (three in a row) then you will get these tests as part of your investigation.

I have Factor V Leiden (a genetic thromobophiliac condition) and have had no symptoms other than miscarriages.

I was tested for APS but I don't have it, although it is acquired not genetic so you can develop it in later life, according to my consultant.

If you think you have APS but do not qualifiy for recurrent miscarriage investigation, the tests don;t cost very much privately, a few hundred pounds I believe.

  • Hi Everyone,

I thought I was starting to feel a little bit better kind of coming to term with things but over the last few days my mood has got more and more down.
I'm supposed to be going back to work next week but just I don't feel like I can face it but then I think well there's nothing physically wrong with me so I should go??? I feel like the past few months have just passed so quickly and I have nothing to show for it I mean I should be 18 weeks pregnant now and I'm not :-(
I've had a lot of crap at certain points in my life but have always managed to pull myself out of low moods but I just can't do it this time.
I'm hoping to go to the local miscarriage support group that I found but the meeting isn't for another 2 weeks!
Well that's my little rant I do hope everyone is ok and you all had the best new year that you could xx

Hi Clare I feel the same. But I spoke to my work yesterday and they said dont worry about coming back if youre not ready yet.

Im also starting a notice period there as well as I want to start a new job doing something pretty different so Im waiting for them to call me today so we can work something out, as I told them I was very anxious about going back in and they were really sympathetic so Im hoping they will have a good result for me today when I speak to them again.

If you cant face going back then go to your dr and ask for a note so you can be signed off. Or you could try going in to work and then leaving if you cant cope? See how you feel when you get there?

Only you can decide but dont put too much pressure on yourself.

I couldnt even speak to the lady in hr on the phone without crying let alone facing walking back in, but you might be stronger than me!x
